More than one water level in the map? [Not Possible]
i don't think this is possible, but i thought i'd ask everyone here first. is it possible to have more than one water lvl in the map? so a part of the map could have water at say -3 and another part of the map at -6.....i don't think it's possible but i'm just checking to see if anyone out there figured out a way to get it working...

A workaround is to create an 3d file with no collision and some damage... but I wouldn't know much about that.

Here is a good topic that list the things that are hard-coded in BF2. So if you ever have a question about something that you think might not be possible be sure to check this list.

Tried it, failed miserably. It might work for low water levels (trickles, flooded plains, mudslips, etc.) but you couldn't create an ocean out of it. Or even anything taller than your unit, as there isn't any shading below its surface. You could replicate rising and falling water levels through ZE anims, though, and hex scrolling in if you want it to "flow". The damage would be done via a damage region. Note, however, that it wouldn't be like normal BF2 water damage. Rather, it would steadily drain your health instead of gulping it up in sporadic leaps.ecko_66 wrote:A workaround is to create an 3d file with no collision and some damage... but I wouldn't know much about that.

Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding your question, but couldn't you just have two layers of water at different heights?

As I understand it, you can apply multiple water layers (up to 15) in ZeroEditor. However, the munge will get rid of all of them save one (not sure which one).

Water at 15 different levels (synonymous with heights) perhaps?

Re: More than one water level in the map? [Not Possible]
Well, the long and short of it is that no matter what you do in ZeroEdit, you can only have one layer in-game. The game will discard extra layers and leave an error in the log.
