Yes. Every vertex has it's own normal in the msh file format.

Re: W.I.P. TIE Laigrek model (non-canon)
I figured it out, finally! Now I have to go and pick which ones I want hard or soft...
It does make the angled parts look better.
EDIT: hard edges set
What do you think about this:
Should the faction logo be locked in rotation, so it is sideways when the wings are folded?
or should the logo rotate against the part it attaches to so that it is always right side up?
(in other words, not rotate with it)
(all the change would be is a different envelopment, but idk if rotating it would make sense, since the wing hinge bar goes through it)

Re: W.I.P. TIE Laigrek model (non-canon)
I think you should make it move. It'll look better if you make it move to follow the angle of the wing. It just looks weird being stationary, besides it's hard to tell because the logo is like a circle anyways.
See what I mean, probably not
Hope that helped.

Re: W.I.P. TIE Laigrek model (non-canon)
true, hard to tell with a circular logo, but I'm making multiple logos so a quit hex edit can change the faction. not all of those are circular
edit: left them alone, they will be on their side when the fighter is landed

Re: W.I.P. TIE Laigrek model (non-canon)
the body looks a little too smooth, not consistent with the rest of the model

Re: W.I.P. TIE Laigrek model (non-canon)
Huge Bump
But it should be ok, since it's my topic, and I have an update.
After working on many more models (and specifically the Lancet Aerial Artillery), I had some ideas how I could redo/use some parts from the Lancet to remake some parts of the Laigrek. So here's a new WIP screen.

I might slim down the brackets and hinges holding the wing plates for a smaller overall size and bulk in those parts, and the tie engines will be smaller, and somehow connected to the torpedo tubes. And the anims will have to be updated.

WOW that's great
What about an Ti Vulture??
here some outlines
animation ideas:
you see the defend position of the wings.
attack: the wings move ahead
speed: wings move back.
to shoot rockets the wings apart and the rocket is shoot from between the wing parts.
