Some quick shots of Geonosis, since they were requested.

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
Dude, that looks sweet. But uhh.. on the two recent maps you've shown (i.e Dantooine & Geonosis), I've only seen the Phase I clones. Are u still having the random legions thing on these maps or did you just do it to look more movie-like?

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
That's partially coincidence, and partially because I was testing some things on a couple of the Phase I clones. Every map still has random legions, though Geonosis will have much greater probability of randomly picking Phase I clones.Nova Hawk wrote:But uhh.. on the two recent maps you've shown (i.e Dantooine & Geonosis), I've only seen the Phase I clones. Phase I's are always good.
Interesting screenshots Xavious, looks like good Geonosis maps are a trend right now.

Xav, Geo looks good, but, being Geo, it reminds me of about 20+ other Geonosis's out there, whats gonna make this one unique?

The Campaign mission, for the most part. That and the fact that it's the official Geonosis map of the mod.DarthRogueKnight wrote:Xav, Geo looks good, but, being Geo, it reminds me of about 20+ other Geonosis's out there, whats gonna make this one unique?

Looking good. I'm liking the lack of massive amounts of dust, it means all the weapon effects won't disappear like in so many other Geonosis maps I've come across. Only criticisms are that the terrain could be a little mode red/orange, and the BARC speeder could be replaced with the Republic skinned 74-z, but that second one is more personal preference than anything else.

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
I have a question for all of you.
So I did some multiplayer testing last night on the random legions and units. What I found was the host would get one legion, and the clients' legions could get a different legion at the spawn screen. However, upon the client spawning, they would in fact be the host's legions.
For example, say I was hosting. Say I got the 607th as the randomly loaded legion. Then someone else joins, and on their spawn screen they have Phase I clones. They pick a character, but then spawn as the 607th equivalent instead.
What I want to know is how big a factor you all think this is. Would you prefer the legions to be preset for multiplayer, or have random legions and the aforementioned problem for everyone who joins a multiplayer game? (Or is there some way to force the client to adopt the same random characters from the spawn screen? I doubt it, but you never know.)
Oh, and on another note, all localizations for all the characters and weapons so far are done (Took me about an hour and a half... I hadn't done any of them earlier). The mod's starting to come together and look more like a finished product. I'm not ready for a release any time soon, just wanted to let you all know that it's coming along.

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
sounds awesome!
I think that just for MP you might wanna try to give it set, but realistic to the planet, legions, but try to keep random heroes if possible.

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
Eh, I don't think it really matters. All that matters is that the player has a fun time. So I don't think u should bother about that.
I am glad to see that it's almost completed! This is one of the best side mods (next to BFX) ever!
Btw, on the custom maps, will there be a higher reinforcement count?

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
Most likely not. Most of the custom maps are around default map size. If you want a longer battle, you can set the reinforcement count higher yourself via the ingame settings.Nova Hawk wrote:Btw, on the custom maps, will there be a higher reinforcement count?

Plus, you can always put on a timer so you can have loads of reinforcements but the battle ends after how ever long you want.
Looks great Xav'!

I'm with Fluff on that one, I think set legions but random heros would be great.

Re: Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
Set legions, that make sense. Like Phase 1's on Geonosis, and the 212th on Utapau ect. And I think this might be the best Geonosis map ever made... Can't say for sure haven't played it, it just looks Really good.Super_Clone wrote:I'm with Fluff on that one, I think set legions but random heros would be great.
