How to export a model in 3DS Max?

Post by ColonelKlink »

Hey, Klink here. I have been working the past week on a model in 3DS Max, and after starting it over like 7 times, I have finally produced a model somewhat worthy to export, and test ingame.
Question is, how would you do this? I have Mshex4Max_rev3, but am not quite sure on how to export.
So, I would like to know....
1. Do I have to freeze my scene, like in XSI?
2. What should I use for "hp_fire", (I would use a null, like in xsi, but I can't find it).
3. What are the steps to export the model using Mshex? Mshex has a readme, which seems simple, but is there like any catch, like in XSI, you have to check some boxes in the Crosswalk box(Or something, I haven't used it in a while)?

Oh, are here's a picture (hopefully)

Oh, and how do you texture the top and front of the gun, not the sides?
I have more questions, but I think this is enough for now.
Thanks for your help!
