How to make a lightsaber turn off when not used?

i just wondered... how/what do i need to do to make a lightsaber turn off while not used to block and fight? like the emperor's...

I guess it has something to do with his animations or with his combo file..

thats defined in the combo, i think rancor may wrote about thta something in his comboguide....
