Rainshadow placement (Solved)

Post by bobfinkl »

Ok now this isn't exactly a crashing error like most but it's bugging me like there's no tommorow. I have placed rainshadow regions (Approx. 15/16) and up until now they always work, I have placed a rainshadow at two buildings that refuse to not have rain in them or around them.

This is what I have attempted to do so far:
I have placed the region in the buildings but then it didn't work so I placed another region and still didnt work I then deleted them both and moved a working region into the area and then it didn't work again and I take it out and it works.

There are no munge errors and nothing in the bf2 error log that wasnt there before and has absolutely nothing to do with the rainshadows at all im errorless and clueless :runaway: . Oh by the way I made the rainshadow regions squares (not sure if this'll help but anything is good now).

My first thought is that you might have those on a layer that isn't loaded in your game mode. I would make sure all those regions are on the base layer to be safe.

They all are, all the rainshadows are on the same layer along with my deathregion.

However I found this in the kam1.req does it do anything with the rainshadows?

Code: Select all

    REQN
    {
        "povs"
        "kamino1"
    }

Nope, they're just a regular old region. Are there other regions in the same area? Maybe they're conflicting.

Slightly off topic the povs is the file for the different screen shots you can have in game while waiting to spawn.

You didn't rotate the regions, did you? I'm pretty sure rotated rainshadow regions won't work.
