I suppose some script could overload the server with too much of one thing, but I really don't think it's feasible. Anyone who does it is outright childish. I'll be blunt - it's a totally moronic and adolescent thing to do. People who do it need to get a life.
"DUDE! I just totally crashed their server!!!"
"Really?? That's what you waste your time on?"
"What? It's cool and funny!"
"Uh huh, you're so totally cool and in control now. Enjoy your lame power trip"
AND ON THAT NOTE: I don't care about any of the drama behind what's going on this time. I told all interested parties last time if I had to come back to this I'd be instant and perma banning everyone involved. We're not the police, and frankly the staff all have lives outside of this. If you have issues with hackers do private servers.
EDIT
Double posting and locking with good reason:
Bottom line is with these 'hackers' is that we aren't the police. Secondly *IF* we have to take sides and it's not clear who's right we're going to take the side of the Gametoast veterans that have proven themselves. Bottom line is we can't and don't have time to fix stuff like this. All of the 'evidence' people have been putting towards a certain individual has been proven false, so I suggest you all get your facts straight.
I don't want any more topics about this, no PMs, no nothin. If you're having trouble with hackers on your server do what everyone else does and set a password. Keep your juvenile cat fights to yourselves.

anyone mind if we toss all lame locked topics like these, there is no reason to even keep these active or readable, if something is not important and no one needs to see it feel free to toss it. we arent limited on space or anything just why bother even letting people get higher rank post amount or filling the database with 3 pages of crap like this topic is.

Re: Annoyed at hackers on my friend's SWBF2 server
I tried it a few years ago and wasn't able to get it working. The benefit of having an ingame script that lets you swap the controlling server is that we could use it to create an MP version of Galactic Conquest. A player on the winning team would gain control of the server and be able to pick the next move for his team.
Since no one has posted or PMed me with such a script, I don't have a compelling argument to keep this topic. I'm sure we'll get a couple of reposts, but that always happens anyway.
