ok there are two things i need help with
1.to change the name's of soliders what ALL do i need to do
2. i tried to change the color of the droideka's shield buy editing it with photoshop but it does not show up in game

p.s.do i edit from the cis effects?

You need to use the localize tool to name and rename units.

where can i find the localize Tool and is the tut for bf1?

You have to edit the shield in particle editor too (sides/CIS/effects/droidekashield). Just open it in notepad and edit below line to change the color

(Its in Red Green Blue Alpha)

That's strange...I only edited the .tga file in the CIS effects folder, and it worked

It's in BF2_Modtools/Data_ABC/ and it's called editlocalize.bat

Yes, that tutorial is for BF1, but they haven't changed the localize tool at all between the two games.
