Adding a section for...

Post by drummerzoid1 »

Hey gametoast is almost more than just a star wars modding community. It's becoming open to other games and possibly home grown games like indie type stuff. So could you possibly add a section for game design? With the new Microsoft XNA, it's really easy to create games for the PC or XBOX 360 from home so it would be nice to see a community for that to start. Here's a link that may spark your interest...

well i don't mean to disagree, but guru made this website for star wars, i really don't want this site to turn into something like filefront.

jeez you give up easy drummerzoid1 :)

I've just been looking at the XNA site and it's sparked an interest. I'll download it and see how it goes. If enough people like and want a forum for it then who knows. Change the topic title to something more XNA specific and see what response you get. Possibly try and gather reviews etc... from people. Is it something you've tried yourself and would give us a review of, or do we need to set in motion a race to get a good one. See how it goes but don't give up on it quite so easily. Mabe a home made game showcase would be a laugh. :)

I've downloaded it and tried the first tutorial with success, but the 2nd one is a prob as i don't have an xbox 360 ands the 3rd one i get stuck with some stupid error message. I'd say it is a good idea as those who use it and can work it well can help others kinda like the modding sections as it is really a way of modding only form scratch. Well thats my 2 cents (pennys), I think it is a good idea...

*cough* Why JUST XNA? Why not other games too. There's Games Factory, RPG Maker, PaLib (Makes DS games), and I'm sure theres others out there! :P This could definitely be fun.

@Ogeb: check out http://www.riemers.net/ . it has helped me a lot. And yes, one of the tutorials is even star wars themed (has an xwing in it). Also for anyone who needs help, visit gamedev.net. I agree, a game dev section would be really cool. kinda shows what the people of gametoast can do.
