hey y'all
basically, i was wondering if you could make a gun shoot water?
if so, how would you do this? would you have to make the bolt texture water?
1) how would you make it like one continuous beam
2) or just like a normal rifle
thanks in advance
IF you mean bolts like the Clonetrooper's rifle, I don't know if there is really a way to reskin those. (well, then again there must be).So yes you could.
If you mean like a sniper rifle, then the sniper bolts aren't very realistic water. They wouldn't curve as you shot.
But for a water gun, if there is indeed a way to reskin the clone rifle bolts to water, then you could use those instead of rockets.
I'm pretty sure you could reskin the bolts. BUT I don't think it'd work out too well unless you were to make it so that the scatter of the bolts is only VERTICAL. And then tone down the damage A LOT to make it fair. Take the chaingun, for instance. Really fast, impossible to fire one shot at a time, and it looks like a continuous stream.

Tourny put it best in his first post. All you really want is a small stream of "rocket" (or shell) ordnances (with invisible rockets) and a good traileffect that looks like water. That's best because you can make gravity factor in and have a more realistic "stream."
You could also try using a beam ordance, like the award sniper rifle, redo the effect to look like water. The thing with the beam is it is more persistant (lasts longer) than the bolt so it would look more like a stream.
If you are talking gravity a beam weapon also has a gravity setting.
And as water, ala water pistol in real life, shoots in a stream as opposed to drops it may be more realistic, but it is really up to carfanaticphil as he knows what he'd like to do with it and he would like it to function. We are just putting forth options.
