Hi there people,
My problem is the game (Star Wars: Battlefront 2) requesting the right CD/DVD when I got the right medium in. I recently patched the game because it kept sometimes crashing due the game unstable as I have dual core CPU and the computer itself is supposed to be Vista, but is Windows XP.
I've got the game on original DVD bought year ago.
My comp:
OP: Windows XP SP3
CPU: AMD Athlon(Tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ 2,61GHz
Memory: 2 GB RAM
DVD: HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GSA-H60L
Graphic card: ATI Radeon HD 4670
Hard Drive: ST3500630AS
I also tried patching it up with non-international version by this tutorial:
http://forums.lucasarts.com/thread.jspa ... 5&tstart=0
Didn't work either, tried posted for help on lucasarts forums and FileFront forums, but no working help :/.
Thanks in advance.

I guess you already made sure it was the right CD/DVD that you installed it with and that your trying to play with. Did you try all three patches? Did either one help? Are you using the original CD/DVD or a backup disc?

Re: Might have seen this before
Sorry for late response, I'm checking it now and then and all the forums I posted on.
Anyway, I have only one medium drive and I'm pretty sure I put the DVD into this one xD
I tried the international patch (no use)
Then, after realizing it isn't working and finding the solution on Lucasarts forums, I tried their method but ended the same with normal US patch
And CD US Patch doesn't let me to patch because I have DVD.
And yes, I am trying to play it with the original DVD.

Does the disk autorun? (when you put the disk in, does it automatically bring up the game?)

Yes, it brings up the launcher. I tried both just pressing play and finding the BF2 in gamedata, but neither works. I'm always getting the same error. Just to mention, I didn't download any mods for it, either, since I didn't even play it since updating.

If starting it up through the launcher doesn't even work, then that doesn't really make sense. Have you tried reinstalling?

Re: Might have seen this before
Had to for the patches. First BF2 crashed alot for me without the updates, no problems with DVD's, but since the crashes were really often, I patched it, and then ran into the problem. Since then I reinstalled it for the domestic patch and then again just to make sure I did everything right... x_x''...
Edit: Is it possible that °it has to do something with the pc being built for Vista and I had to use drivers for XP when I installed XP on it so my hdd's and DVD are shown as external drives? (Along with memory card readers)
