AWARD Weapon Glitch [SOLVED] + Space Problem [UNSOLVED]
I'm getting extremely tired of this glitch. All my rifles seem to be fixed, but most custom pistols cause the freezing now. I've added these lines in their odf:
ScoreForMedalsType = -1
MedalsTypeToUnlock = -1
What should I do to fix it? I can understand people are getting frustrated with it

I believe I assigned them a completely different parent that didn't include those lines.
Removing the lines completely from the .odf would make it think there is no award weapon for it I believe.

Then simply make a new .odf, call it com_weap_inf_pistol2.odf for example, copy EVERYTHING the default com_weap_blabla has into this one, and juet get rid of the award weapon lines. The simpler way of doing this is removing the lines from com_weap_inf_pistol entirely, and your rep_weap_inf_pistol/whatever it might be, nothing else is required all you have to do is delete the "Medals" lines entirely from both the weapons com parent's odf and it's own odf.CodaRez wrote:I assigned them a completely different parent

Sometimes that doesn't work for me. And(though I doubt that Mande is doing this) this method is favorable to those who want award weapons in a map where some other overpowered weapons don't use awards.

Okay it seems to be working! Thanks Coda! I know also put all rep weapons in the Common side, which decreases the filesize a lot! I've got another modding question, I'll just post it here without having another topic..
-With space battles, you can only have max 2 unit classes right? Is there a way to fix that? Like, having 4 classes per team, without the need of locals?

I didn't know that rule existed... you sure?
On the other hand, having more than 2 alrdy is disadvantageous, lest you have better luck teaching the bots to land a carrier than I did.
If you are planning a land + space battle, I believe the only way is to "cheat" by using a land map, but spacing everything out and adding capital ships bla bla(cus they all inevitably go down to props)

There's no limit to unit classes for space maps, aside from the limitation of units leaving the selection screen after around 9 classes. Just use the classes you want, as you normally would. As I recall, you shouldn't need to code in the other classes at all. Really, much of what makes space what it is comes from the lua (objectives, sheilding, linked objects, and whatnot), plus a terrainless wld. Anything else is more or less the same as it would be for a land map.
