I'm quite confused. If I use a proxy, I can access apple.com and deviantart.com yet if I go without, they just keep connecting. This is happening for other sites to 0_o.

I tracerouted this and neither of the sites make it past 192.168.15.1 (my router IP). Any ideas?

using a firewall of any kind? build in router firewall software? try disabling those for a few minutes and paste your traceroute here minus your ip.

Disabled software firewall and went into router to turn that off as well,

Its interesting every provider I use gives the sames a timeout before hitting apple.com site.

In my opinion there is something else software related blocking your outgoing access to these addresses, be it built in pre packaged software in the os or a packet filtering software.

In my other tests to deviant everything was fine so although I cant say which program for sure, I know my router has a default firewall in it that silently blocks its own sites set by my isp and any windows monitor apps like windows defender could be the villain. You in windows vista or ?

I can't get to Apple.com either.

Well, @guru, atm, I'm in Mac OS X 10.5.6. I've tried from both Windows 7 and Mac to the same results...

Brought it up in < 3 seconds. T3 line at work. I'll try at home tonight.

Strangest thing happened. I went out to dA to look at something from chal just for kicks I tried it with out a proxy and it loaded 0_0. Then I tried apple. And it loaded 0_0.

I haven't changed anything :S So I'd gladly post a solution but I didn't do anything :S

But it works. And I'm happy.

Sounds like your DNS was just being slow.
