Prime Front


I've uploaded this to SWBFII files, but it's been bugged or whatever, so I uploaded it to Megaupload. Anyway;
Prime Front version 1.0
This is the second version of Prime Front. You'll notice a lot of dramatic changes since 0.50, like the redone feds and the new pirate sides, and the removal of heroes. You'll also notice that I removed a few(lie-alot) shipped maps from this mod, due to the number of mods with tons of missions. Anywho, Prime front's sides have been redone greatly. There are no longer nine class to chose from, but depending on the map, you'll get certain units(five classes btw). For example, on maps with no vehicles, you'll get a gunner instead of a missiler. Of course, there a new maps in this version. The new maps are; Chozo Ruins: Ruined Valley, Magmoor Caverns: Lava Lake, and Phazon Mines: Mining station. That's all. Hello! This is Prime Front, a mod that is basically a battle front version of Nintendo’s famous First Person Shooter series, Metroid Prime. This mod adds a new era to
StarWars Battlefront II that is called Prime Front. What is Prime Front you ask? Well, Prime Front, as I said before, is a battle front version of Nintendo’s famous first person shooter series, Metroid Prime. Prime front has so many things to offer, and here is a list of a few major things it offers:
1) Adds a new era to BFII called Prime Front.
2) Adds Prime Front to five of my favorite shipped maps.(all will be removed to save mission space)
3) Adds eighteen new maps to BFII.(This version only has six new maps)
4) Has over 30 new heroes, all of them gunners.(I’m redoing them right now, so next version there will be 10 heroes)
5) Brings in four new modes, Hunter Death Match, Ocolith capture, rally flag and raid.
6) Has fourteen new infantry classes.
7) Has two new fractions.
8) Has a lot of new custom sounds. (Not a lot right, but expect a lot by the last couple of versions)
9) Released separately, a series of campaign style maps, which will be called The 85th Red Bolts missions Journal.(No longer planning on doing a large map series)
10) Finally, this will also add a few things to the actually game, but that’s top secret...for now. (This one probably won’t go through...)

Wow, that looks really good! I'll give this a download. Even though this issue has been covered, I still say those red guys look like Elites.

You realize you can upload to filefront without it being hosted on SWBFFiles first, right?

-first of all, im spelled DarthD.U.C.K.
-there is nothin like a chaingunanim, caleb created the underhand chaingun, it should use rifle anims
-Bertie created the arc gun (westar rifle)
-nearly all of wazmols weapons are small edits of converted jka-weapons (without crediting the original creator), do you mind looking for the correct author on http://jediknight3.filefront.com/?
-if you mean the creator of the best looking skin for V5011s halo elite skin (imo):

Because? You realize that hosting on SWBFFiles is hosting on Filefront, the only difference is a review and different-looking link.

I admit I haven't ever played Metroid Prime, just heard of it, playing this mod was a completely new experience for me.

Ok, so... I don't like to be harsh when talking of other people's work, mostly because I don't have their skills in that particular area, perhaps I shouldn't criticize while I am not able to do any better, still, that's what I'll do, not because I believe I have the right to criticize, but because I believe it can be improved and someone has to point out the flaws.

The maps are bland, I don't know if you focused more on the sides and the maps were simply a last minute addition, but that's just not an excuse to ignore the terrain; they were arenas, with next to none points of interest, to be honest I think they are ugly, it's ok to have a somewhat ugly level, you can't be a first grade mapper right off the bat, however, the simplicity bothers me. Please, work more on those maps.

The units don't have any aesthetical variety, not that that is a serious problem, as long as they play differently it's fine, however, it would be nice to see a difference between each class besides a different backpack. Weapons look sloppy.

Well, now that I'm done throwing the rotten tomatoes, it's time for commendations:

I had some fun playing it, that's what really matters, the guns are interesting, providing some nice gameplay; in Battlefront there's always the weak blaster pistol, the automatic blaster, the strong blaster pistol, the strong automatic blaster that overheats, the rocket launcher, some sort of shotgun/electric weapon and the melee weapon, while your mod does not deviate too much from that formula, it has originality and some simple innovations, I will give it that.

One phrase review: Prime Front is an ugly, yet fun, game.

WOW Nihillo.thats a hard critic.But thats your opinion.

I liked some of the Maps like the Rhen Var and Mustafar like Maps.
On the Hangar ,the Cave/Tunnel and the Arena/Bidges Map you should really spend some more Time.These Maps are Way boring and could be so good.
I enjoyed the Rhen Var like Map most.
I dont know the Names of All these Maps because
The whole Thing has no Localization for EU Version means Everything is on ZERO and no Map Names.You should fix this
I cannot say that i liked the Units and that Weapon Effets that much,but ok, its a Metroid Mod, so i can life with them.Dont feel bad,i like too much Special Weapon Effects in No MOD/Map.
I mostly played the reskinned Rep Commando Units and these are fine.
It would be way better if you would add SWBF-2 Legions Conquest to your Maps and Primefront as Mode not only Pimefront Mode for all these Maps.

I liked your Mod and Maps,that for sure.Good Work.

This looks pretty fun, although I'm not familiar with the Metroid series.
Those red aliens in the screen shots look useful for making a Halo mod with Elites.

:lol: They ARE Elites, lol. They were jsut the closest model made for Battlefront to Metroid pirates.

Good to see the elite being used in some fashion, but whenever I look at that model I see all the problems with it and how I could've done it alot better. :P It was a great learning experience, maybe I'll go back and tweak it, and improve some parts of it.

Glad to see this is finaly out :) I've seen tons of improvements over 0.5, and I can't wait to download this version. Though, my era select might get a bit crowded...

It was fun to play, but like others have mentioned, it does need a lot of polishing, especially on the maps. And, is it just me, or are there no loadscreens?
However, I know that this is a continuing project, and this did improve a lot over the beta, so I'm sure the next version will continue to improve upon this already well done mod. :)
