About the walls: I can't change them because it is the same texture as some of the floors on this ship. So to end the non-canonical insanity, I'm just going to say this is a different class of starship. Feel free to make a name for it

Believe it or not Kenobi, but most of the textures are actually from Voyager.

Re: The Final Frontier
The reason people are confused then should be obvious. You say you want it to look like the Enterprise, but you're trying to use hue sets from Voyager. The interiors of the two ships are notably different:[TFA]Padawan_Fighter wrote:Believe it or not Kenobi, but most of the textures are actually from Voyager.

I never said I wanted it to look like the Enterprise, although I have been doing what Gen.Kenobi was telling me to do. I'm just suggesting that I make it a whole different class of (non canon) starship, to end the crazyness.

Genesis-class...nice, it's pretty catchy.
*edit* Hey Mav, just curious, what games did you get the Voyager and Enterprise pictures from?

Re: The Final Frontier
I tend to think Romulans would be the easiest to skin, but the original series Klingons looked just like humans, so that could work as well.

Re: The Final Frontier
Well, Romulans wouldn't be possible to perfect without modeling the ears a bit, and I don't think we have a good reference picture of a 22nd-century Klingon OR Romulan, so it's gonna be tough...but we'll make the enemies as soon as we make the Enterprise crew.
Last time I saw it (My modding computer hasn't been set up yet because of moving), the Jonathan Archer skin is looking good, but it will need alot of modeling work on the lips, hair, and suit. Are there any modelers out there that are willing to help? 'Twould be appreciated.

Re: The Final Frontier
Those are all TOS Klingons, not ENT Klingons (which may or may not look different). The second picture is a Klingon disguised as a human, so for all intents and purposes that is just a picture of a human.501st_commander wrote:this isn't a bump right?

Thanks, but I need some from ENT, not TOS. Also, I need full body pictures, most of these are just showing the top.
Ookey, heres the Archer skin so far:

fixed image:
the skin looks better than before but i advise you to improve the face
you have to put the new face in a new layer above the old one
then you cut out everything you dont need
then you scale it correct (it has to fit atleast eyes mouth and nose)
then you erase the too-dark edges of the face with a smooth brush
then you use Iwarp (in gimp) to give the cheek(s) and chin etc the correct layout on the skin by "smudging" them with the tool
then you recolor the baseskin a bit to fit the new face
and then you smudge the new skin on all edges to let it flow with the old face
and in the end you get something like that:

Re: The Final Frontier
Yyyyeeeah, well that's EXACTLY what I did before and it turned out to look nothing like Capt. Archer. I have the face correct though, EVERYTHING is where it should be, it's just the model. Like I said before, I need someone that knows how to model .mshes.
Also, if there IS someone here that can and is willing, I ask of him/her/it to make a generic model out of Han Solo, that doesn't show a vest or belt, and keep the sleeves. I'd appreciate that, as I could use it to make countless ST: ENT skins.

Nice skin there! I just miss the capitain Ranks... xD
Well what is the mod in need: modelers, people abble to export animation and make player models, and Texture artists.
Meet the Genesis Class ship.
Lowres version for distant battles. and for the land maps. a better will be added.

Re: The Final Frontier
Assuming it's not to be confused with the Daedalus-class ship of the same name, he's just making something up, so he can name the captain whatever he likes.
If you ever plan on using that in a space map, you'll probably what it about 10x more detailed in the modeling, not to mentioned textured.

Gimme a side and front view so I can make a MSD out of it.
As for the ranks, you could still see them if you wish, BUT, they will be on both sides.

Re: The Final Frontier
Still quite low-poly even for a LOD model, you can still up the detail and not have a large performance impact. Try think outside of the RTS box for this game (your model is perfectly fine for a RTS). Push major details and shapes, and don't have rounder areas overly pointed, but leave the finer stuff for closeup models.

Re: The Final Frontier
Meh. I think it'll do fine. Besides, I don't think we'll be making ground/space maps with the sides test ship anytime soon...or are we?
Maybe as an easter egg, idk.
Making some models for the Horizon, mainly sickbay, crew quarters, and some props. They will be coming shortly...but here's a look at what Sickbay looks like in Sketchup:
Took a bit of inspiration form Voyager and Enterprise-D. Just a bit. It will have a forcefield feature later on.
I have the strange feeling we're taking this sidestest a little to far, eh? Nah, of course not...
