Spent a couple of hours making this today since I needed to take a break from other things so that I wouldn't start getting tired of it. I always thought that someone released one but I guess it never made it that far and it was a fun ship to make even though I never had a real interest in the Fett's, clones, mando's, ect.

Mesh isn't done yet but it's enough to show off, polycount is a bit high but there's detail that I would really hate to leave out and make the ship look bad so I'm just gonna finish it and see how high it gets then try to optimize.

Found a little time to work at this some more, reduced the amount of edges on the cockpit area but when I went to chop back the dome/fuselage area I had to revert back. With the size of the craft (the size of a small freighter) I think that it would end up looking too blocky in game. Added the guns and detail around the engines, considering the main mesh done at this point but I'm not sure what to do about the missiles. In AotC it showed the missile launcher coming out of the side of the body with a panel opening up. Perhaps have the panel open and a small arm with missiles come out each side like in the movie when it takes off? Can't make it open only when firing, would have to open on takeoff. Ideas?

That looks awesome! I'd have to say it might work better if you have them open always. It'll also fill in that rather empty gap around the middle of the body (that is where they go, right?). On the other hand, the animation would look pretty cool, however the pilot wouldn't even see it, so i don't think its really worth it. Its your choice though. :)

They'd see them opening in 3rd person, never use cockpit views so not sure if the pilot would be staring at the ceiling when landed.

I would have them always closed, or open in the takeoff anim.

i would make two versions of the ship, one with always closed and one with open in the takeoff anim

^Yeah but there's only 1 problem, in the closed version where would the missiles come out from?

Idk what the holes are called, but the ptorpedo launchers on the X-Wing are what I would think of.

How does that look? IMO it doesn't look too bad and like mentioned before it kinda fills in that empty spot on the hull where nothing is going on. Canonically speaking though this is correct, right on the blue prints in the book for the essential guide of crafts and vessels, only thing is that they can't open and close whenever you want.

that looks really good, but i think these doors are more lasers, cause in AOTC the rockets comes out under the twin lasers (but this is Jango´s modified Slave 1)

^If you look up the original blue prints from like the 90's in the old Essential Guide to Craft and Vessels where I put them is where they are originally. Not as bad as how Lucas ruined the OT but still something that was changed from it's original design.

I think that looks great how it is. It'll look even better when you texture it....Can't wait. :D Are you gonna custom make your own textures?

Well, the old Essential Guide to Craft and Vessels had many errors with pre-existing canon at the time, so it's not a perfect source for canon. Additionally Boba Fett made many changes to Slave 1, even on top of his "Father's" upgrades.

Of course, it has been 5 or so years since I had someone do textures for my models, I have been doing them all since.

The blueprints state that 1 side is missiles and the other is an ion cannon, just gonna leave them since I've already almost completely UV mapped the model. Don't really feel like redoing it at this point, the large cylinders in the center will be textured to look like the rocket launchers on the wings of an Apache Gunship.

On a side note, I'm about to go back to Mod Tool 7.5 for modeling and probably just export with 5.1, the rotoscope tool in 5.1 is horrid.

Been working on this the past 2 days, UV mapping and early texture so far. I was desperate for some feedback since I was never good at textures.

I'd say by the amount of detail I'm looking to put into it that it's probably only 40% done at the most.
