If it's not here, don't believe it. I've seen about 10000000000 of threads about SWBF3/4/whatever. I'm really starting to get annoyed with them. Lucasarts will make an announcement if there's any more Battlefronts coming out in due time, I'm sure.

There's nothing here to believe or not believe. It's concept art. It doesn't predict or promise anything. BFIII by the sounds of it was almost done, so concept art for IV wouldn't have been out of the question.
At the end of the day it, quite sadly, doesn't matter too much.

Because Lucas wants to release 4,5, and 6 before returning and making 3, then he'd redo the first two games, and re-release them on Steam.Nova Hawk wrote:Why would they make a 4th when they don't even have a 3rd??

This thread is full of, "What the [Soda]"s and, "LOL"s.
Those concepts are pretty neat though. But then again, concepts are always pretty interesting.

Re: Uh..Battlefront IV?
maybe, but i think these concepts are pretty bad
if they use these for a battlefront game i will definitelly not like it
a four wheeled vehicle on dagobah? citys on dagobah? cartoonstyle?
i dont want another starwars product that messes the whole saga up

Re: Uh..Battlefront IV?
For the record, its not unheard of to have developers start work on a sequel to a game before they've even finished the original work. Although, its usually a risky proposition and generally reserved for extremely successful titles (like the COD series).
Although I'm somewhat skeptical, I wouldn't be that surprised if this really was the beginnings of some SWBF4 work. Afterall, its just a bunch of concept art.

Re: Uh..Battlefront IV?
This is most likely part of the pre-production stuff Free Radical was talking about for Battlefront 4. On of the laid off employees said something like, "We were pretty much done with battlefront three, and were already started pre-production on the fourth."
Of course, this may not be true, but God, do I hope a third installment happens.

could be photoshopped, you never know.Maveritchell wrote:Lord Bardar wrote:looks fake. That's professional-quality concept art. There's really no point to "faking" something like that.

It is an original concept. What could it possibly be photoshopped from?

Re: Uh..Battlefront IV?
If you think about this concept art interpreted into actual maps, there are some goods and bads.
- The large tree (1st pic) looks great for a map. Can use as cover, weaving in and out of the roots, using it as pinch point through brush.
- The large tank really doesn't look like it could traverse the terrain of Dagobah. Although, maybe it can float? I also see only one real place for gunners on it, like an ATAT, so that means it'd either have to be powerful (which also means being slow), or carry a lot of troops for something like an instant CP takeover.
- Several of the other pics, although they look nice, don't reveal a whole lot of potential for good maps. At least, using the current format of the game. Doesn't mean they can't BE good, it's just the concept art doesn't show it.
- the Dagobah central building is a tower that looks to be about 15 stories tall. IF there's any such thing as modding for a game like this, that would surely mean three-dimensional AI pathing.
- The Dagobah town looks about the most promising as a map itself. I can't remember the modder, but a map somewhat similar to this was done in BF1. It was held way up in the treetops using kashyyk assets. If you fell off the edge, it was to your death.
This art also presents us with LADDERS. Something we haven't seen functional in a Battlefront before. Interesting to think how it would be implemented.
- Although it'd almost have to be required to be in a next installment to this series (since it's in the flippin PSP version), one of the photos shows dagobah ground and space in the same pic, reinforcing the ground-to-space combat scenario.

Depending on how similar a new engine would be to the Zero engine, it could just be like they are in LOTR:C, vehicles/turrets/etc. with a new animation.squipple wrote:This art also presents us with LADDERS.
