Battlefield 2142

Post by Nova Hawk »

I think there was a thread like this a while back but I wanted to create a new one. So anyone here play BF2142? I recently reinstalled it after upgrading to Win7 since I got tired of my other games and its a pretty fun FPS online game. My username is NovaHawk101 if you want to add me.

Here is the link to the trailer for the game for those who haven't played/seen it yet:

I have the game, I neverbhad a computer to play it on. It didn't work on my first SWBF2 computer, and I don't even have a game friendly computer now.

I hope my next computer can run it, as it seems more community/clan friendly than battlefield heroes. :(

I play it every now and then. But only in SP. I still have to download the 1.50 patch before I can play online. Just wondering, are there any mods out there that allow players to play all maps and unlock gear in SP?

Idk, but there's a total conversion that makes it Star Wars. :) I've wanted to buy the game just for that soo many times...

I think I remember that mod. No one played it online so I had to uninstall it.

There is a mod that does unlock the stuff, and give more SP maps, but I forget what they're called. Search over in the Filefront section for Battlefield.

I got the deluxe edition as a Christmas present, but I only play the game in single-player. I also can't figure out how to activate the Northern Strike booster pack. If I had realized it was MP based, I would have passed it over. My username is "CommandoPing", just an FYI. I might add ya, Nova, though I don't think I'll play the game much in the coming days, so don't expect to see me.

I bought it once for 1 euro. It's a great game if you've only payed that much for it. I installed a SP mod for it and after that I couldn't start it anymore. Deinstalled the mod, reinstalled BF2142 but it still don't work. I really didn't spend that much time on it.

I bought it a long time ago, played it for a while, then grew bored.

I searched around for mods for the game and stumbled upon Conflict 2142.

It's a clan/community that played every Saturday in organized squad-based warfare. At the beginning of the campaign, which lasted 14 weeks, you would be assigned to a squad in which you would stay the entire time. You had weekly training sessions, and play in a squad during the battleday. Intense, lots of fun, and the selling point for me: no noobs. The point was to strategically win, not to just go rambo and hope that luck would land more bullets in their head than yours.

The most fun cooperative game-play I've ever played. But the community died in it's 8th campain due to lack of interest. Currently they are migrating to BBC2. PM me for more information if you wish to join a great community in BBC2.

I used to play it, it's a good game, but not good enough for me to keep it. It didn't surpass Battlefield 2 gameplay-wise, and I still prefered the futuristic weapons and vehicles of Battlefront II (you can't go wrong with Star Wars :P), so I had no reason to play it much.

In the end, I stuck with the BF2's and gave Battlefield 2142 as a gift to someone else.

The mod is pretty awesome but the only problem is that nobody plays it online and when you go to singleplayer, you only get one map.

It's a seperate mod to the main game that has all the unlocks available in the singleplayer maps.

/facepalm

Sorry, I should have been a little more specific. Do you need to use multiplayer to gain the unlocks? For some reason my computer can't handle Multi and has major memory overloads when I try to play it.

Also, how do I install this? I took the file and dropped it in my mods folder, but nothing changed.

It should have an executable in the zip file that you double click on, and installs the mod for you. Just follow the instructions. All the unlocks are available in the singleplayer maps of the mod, and you don't need multiplayer.

Which one are you refering to? The first one you linked to only included a 7z folder with 2142_s inside, which I dropped in my mod folder. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to download the other one?

I'm referring to the last one for the unlocks:

ffolkes_2142_unlocks_v1.2c.zip

I didn't explain myself properly.

Install ffolkes unlocks mod above and then just copy and past the levels folder from the first download from this directory:

Battlefield 2142/mods/2142_sp/levels

to this directory:

Battlefield 2142/mods/Unlocks_v1.20c/levels. - overwriting what is there.

This will allow you to use the unlocks in the 64 size maps in singleplayer.

You can then delete the first mod 2142_sp from your mods folder as you don't need it.

All the maps work apart from Northern Strike.
