Wavemode - How to?

Post by [Skirata]Darman[M] »

Hey GT, I wanna put a Wave mode in a map but I don't know how.
Is it like a mission with many Ai Ambushs and new trigger regions are setuped when the timer has counted to 0?
Or are there many teams, that spawn one after another?

Could someone who already has made a wavemode post his script as example?
THANKS

No, it is just one team. The only one who actually made wave mode I think was Mav.

Bascially it just start timers, and then at the end of the timer AIs are ambushed at a certain ambush counts. You may want to view some of the stock scripts to really get used to some lua scripting. All scripts that have obectives end with a "c". Fo example, DEAg_c.

Most of Mav's wave modes also featured additional objectives.

Didn't Maveritchell release an example script for the Wave Mode?

Oh, here's a similar topic:

You can ask Maveritchell how he set the basics up, but you would have to do the most part of the scripting yourself. (I was wrong about him releasing it though)

There's also what I think of as a more "traditional" wave mode made by RepSharpshooter for Battle Arena 2 - in which you have a certain amount of time, then a bunch of enemies appear, once they're all killed you get another short amount of time to get to cover, once that time's up more enemies appear etc etc.

Not as fast paced + should really use a small area/your own map.
