Nah, doesn't she play a big role later in the Clone Wars?

Well, the writers have established that they're willing to ignore existing EU material (not that I really have a problem with that).

Random question, but I was looking on Wookipedia's Season 5 page and it said there's only going to be 20 episodes instead of 22. Does anyone know why? And also does anyone know what happened to the epic Embo/Clovis arc we were supposed to get?

Yeah, if a character didn't appear in Episode III then Lucasfilm can pretty much do anything they want with them. Just look at what became of Adi Gallia and Even Piell.

My understanding is that the Jedi youngling arc wasn't originally going to be part of this season so they removed the Embo/Clovis storyline (I've also heard that there was another cut storyline, possibly involving clones), which will probably be transplanted to Season 6.

They should've cut the droid episodes instead.

Old post.
THEWULFMAN wrote:Dad and I finally got caught up on the last two episodes. They're really good.

I have one thing to say though.

If Barriss is the Jedi behind this? I will be seriously pissed the heck off. If you know me, you know I give the show miles of leeway. Want to change Asajj's origins a bit? Fine. Want to kill off Piel? Okay.

Make Barriss into a villain? You will dang near put me off the show.

So. They finally managed to do it. They finally made me furious with the writers.

Barriss has been all but revealed as the perpetrator, it's insultingly obvious.

Five seasons. And a single story arc makes me feel sour about it all. This is, to me, the single dumbest thing they've done. If you know me well, you know I give the show miles of leeway when writing stories and bending canon. They took it too far.

It's a shame, considering that beyond Barriss being the villain, it's a fantastic story arc. I love every bit of it beyond that.

Why? Why did they do this? Barriss is a close friend of Ahsoka's, and she's framing her? For what? Because Barriss is against the war, she kills Jedi, and frames a close friend? It makes no sense.

Do you think Barriss is the Jedi behind this?
I don't know. She is a closest friend of Ahsoka, and I don't see why she want to make all of this crimes and make Ahsoka guilty of them. But she is the only jedi who know Ahsoka is in level 1315 (I know, Plo Koon and Anakin also know that).
I don't know what to say about Barriss. I hope she isn't the jedi.
What do you think about Ventress with Ahsoka? I liked when they fight together.
Other thing about the final season trailer. There is a scene where Anakin is holding two lightsabers: one blue and one green. When I saw the trailer for first time I thought the blue was of Anakin, and the green was of Ahsoka, but I saw it a lot of times and in the scene is something extrange. I give you a image with all I think about it:
Hidden/Spoiler:

I think he is in the jedi temple, but I'm not sure at all.
Other scene in the trailer is in the jedi temple, a figure in the distance. I think this figure is Ahsoka, because the head is like the lekku of the torguta, and the clothes are like the Ahsoka's clothes:

Well, I think a lot of things about this arc. I can't wait for the next episode.

We still have one whole episode for it all to be revealed. What would actually be cool is if Bariss isn't the perpetrator, and the writers wanted to give us a double fakeout. Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit. This is really just a faint hope, I'm certain it's Bariss. I'm just hoping she has some legitimate motivations.

Maybe Barriss has a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde kinda thing going on? Perhaps she still has a Geonosian brain worm in her head? Or maybe she's under the control of Sidious?

I hope that we get a reasonable explanation because there hasn't been any buildup to such a dramatic change in character. Killing innocents and then framing your closest friend? Even an extremist would say, "Whoa, tone it down, buddy."

Can't believe it was (possibly) Barriss!

I personally think it would be interesting if we all thought it was Barriss, but it was someone else. Can't wait till the final episode.(Wish it was not the final because then I have to wait till Fall.)

I don't know guys, but in the fight scene (Ahsoka vs the Jedi) the jedi is taller than Ahsoka, and in the jedi funeral scene Ahsoka much is taller than Barriss. I'm thinking that the jedi is not Barriss. Or Barriss is working with this Jedi.

I don't know that either of those statements are necessarily correct (re: height).

Ahsoka is taller than Barriss, but certainly not "much" taller (she's taller by virtue only of her montrals):

And it's hard to get a real comparison in the fight scenes (for obvious reasons - viewer perspective and bend at the knees account for any differences seen), but there's nothing there that supports either person being significantly taller or shorter. There are certainly no scenes where both stand up side-by-side for a really accurate comparison:

The only thing that's clear is that the viewer is likely supposed to suspect Barriss. Whether the show is planning on subverting or confirming those expectations is the only thing, but I don't know if the show has the subtlety to allude to the bad guy being someone and then reveal that it's someone else. It might have been another thing if characters had explicitly said they suspected Bariss - then we might see the characters surprised - but with no one suspecting her, I don't know if they would subvert audience expectation like that. It is a kids' show, after all.

Of course, thinking meta is not always wise, and Barriss has never been one to use dual sabers.

Other point, the sabers. I don't know what to think. I'm very confused... I can't wait for the next episode. This is a very interesting arc.
I hope in the next episode Plo Koon will be a principal character, not like in To Catch a Jedi, he was a secondary character, and actually he plays a important role in the life of Ahsoka.

Interesting episode. I'll withhold my judgement of the plot (and plot twists) until the finale, but so far I'm definitely enjoying it. The choreography in this episode was great. The fights may not have been as "epic" as some of the Maul fights from the previous arc, but they were very well done nonetheless - especially the unarmed fight between Ahsoka, Ventress, and the clones. It was short, and it wasn't exactly flashy, but for some reason it was a lot of fun to watch.

So in the latest episode featurette, Filoni basically confirms that
Hidden/Spoiler:
it's Barriss.
Also, there's (spoilers!) this.

:OO 0:25 of that video. Is the jedi??!! Is Barriss? I never saw her without the cloak, and in the video we don't see her face.

It looks like Anakin fighting Barriss.

Give someone a mile and they'll take a parsec, and that's exactly what they've done. I'm disappointed in this show now.

Maybe you'll all think I'm overreacting. And that's fine. Each to his/her own.

It better be mindcontrol or a Clawdite.
I really don't think Lucasarts can give an acceptable reason why Barris would become evil on her own.
