Non texturable spots

Post by Culvar »

I imported a object from sketchup, some of the polys are black and if textured, aren't ingame. Is there any way to fix this?

Ya gotta invert them before exporting.

EDIT: I wasn't really explanatory on that. The black polies are inverted polies, and won't show up in battlefront unless corrected.

How do you correct them?

left click on the inverted ones and click polies/invert

I'm 90% sure thats how you do it in XSI, but I don't know, I use blender, where I have no clue how to invert polies.

Always search the docs first when in doubt about XSI's tools or procedures:
http://softimage.wiki.avid.com/xsidocs/ ... Meshes.htm
Also, anyone making models in any 3d app needs to learn about normals and how they affect geometry.

It's best to search the official docs first because they usually provide more information than what someone on a forum will give you.
The Help documentation can be found online(link found in XSI Tutorials sticky) or within XSI(hotkey F1).
