Reskinning the Rancor....
Whenever I try to reskin the rancor it crashes my map, but it does show up in zeroedit, and it's not a texture problem...

Have you used the special scripts for the Rancor? I think it has special scripts...I'm not sure.

RE: Reskinning the Rancor....
It has animation script, but all I want to do is to reskin it without crashing the map...

RE: Reskinning the Rancor....
Because it animates, it needs to have it's own custom side so that the animations can be read. It's probably crashing because it can't find the animations.

Yah, it would crash even if you didn't have a different skin.

ok, if I made a side outside of those odf/msh folders in the world folder, should I place them back into the world folder?

In the sides flolder, create a new folder, not in the world folder. you would also put the animations (just copy whatever folder the animations are from the assets) in data_***\Animations\SoldierAnimationBank. then make these folders in the side folder you created:
msh, munged, odf, and req.
you also need to create a ***.req file (*** = name of side) and then you put all of the stuff that has to do with the rancor in their corresponding folders (odf's in odf, reqs in req, mshs and textures in msh, etc). then munge the side as well as common. that's what you need to do to set up a side, but I d0on't know how you would get it ingame. maybe make him a local? in which case you should look at the local sies tutorial in the FAQ.
Hopefully that helped!
if not, then ignore everything I just wrote!!
msh, munged, odf, and req.

You shouldn't have to make him a side to show up. In one of my many test maps I put him in as just an ODF. He is not killable (sp) but he will eat you.
He gets some wierd lines on him from a center point in ZE but in the game he works fine (excepts sounds I haven't got around to that yet) make sure the anim files are in the munged (the munged/PC folder too) folder of your world directory. As for reskinning, and I am not artist okay I just put Rancors Rule on him and made his teeth a little red but it shows up in the game. See pictures

RE: Re: RE: Reskinning the Rancor....
Just tried it again on a test map. from assests TAT copied the tat3_rancor.odf, tat3_rancor.msh & tat3_rancor.tga from the usual places to
the proper folders in my world. Then from the TAT\Munged folder I copied the rancor anim files to my GAR\Munged folder.
Started ZE browsed for the ODF, placed him in saved, closed, then munged. Started BF2 went to the map and he was there and he ate me.
Only thing that happened during munging was got a warning about skinsplitsegments being out of room in the catalog but it didn't affect the game at all. If you would like you could PM your texture and I could try to see if it works on my computer up to you.
