Sorry if this has been answered, but i searched for 'lower' in the search and nothing came up.
Is it possible to lower terrain to make, say, a hole? or do just have to raise alllllll the terrain around it?

The docs should always be the first place you search for answers.ZeroEditor_guide.doc wrote:MODE
Mode defines the type of brush used to paint terrain. PAINT is the default and adjust terrain height consistently under the brush. SPRAY is akin to a spray can and raises terrain under the brush more erratically. RAISE gradually raises or lowers the vertices under the brush as long as the mouse button is being held down. The left mouse button raises while the right lowers. BLEND takes the foreground height and the background and applies a smoothing gradient between the two in the area under the brush. This is used to smooth out jagged hills and peaks for a more natural look.
