Buy it for Pandemic, not EA.

That is true. I still love Pandemic, just regret having EA release this for them

Picking this up at 10 AM tomorrow, convinced parental units to let me skip school for the first time ever

I'm not sure it will work on the computer I use.
But it will work on my older brother's, just need to work on him not being on it so much.

Call your local store. For the US, Bestbuy.com says that it releases tomorrow, but the community says different things: http://www.pandemicstudios.com/communit ... =20047&p=4

Whoever allowed the trailer to say that today was the launch day is going to be attacked brutally by the small sword I got from pre-ordering the game.

I was going to get it, but seeing as though my birthday is in a month, I'll wait. Even though its going to be really hard...

I laughed... xDFusion wrote:Whoever allowed the trailer to say that today was the launch day is going to be attacked brutally by the small sword I got from pre-ordering the game.
And anyways, the game release date originally was the 13th... maybe they thought shipping day and release day were the same?
I'm pretty mad because I stayed home from school and was planning on playing it. Oh well, 4 day weekend coming up. =D

Re: LotR: Conquest demos released (360, PS3)
Pulled some strings to try this out on PC. Yeah, I'm getting it for the 360 instead. Warrior controls just aren't intuitive with a mouse, and my 3.4ghz P4 could only run it smooth at 800x600 with most things turned down low. It's fun enough but it just feels more at home on a console IMO. So that being said even if tools come out I doubt I'll be modding LotR:C. I'll just get it on 360 and get owned by Fusion constantly.
As far as the engine goes -- if it uses Zero it's a radically different version of it. Not a single file type remains. They've all been traded to new types. Looking at the executable in a hex editor it does use LUA, but that's not saying much since tons of engines do.

Re: LotR: Conquest demos released (360, PS3)
Modding (right out-of-the-box) may definitely be a possibility. The "level" files are in .pak (and .bin, but they're not "real" binary files) files and the loadscreens are in .dds. I haven't looked at the game in detail, since I don't have a copy yet, but from a cursory look-over that's what's there.

Re: LotR: Conquest demos released (360, PS3)
True, but .pak and .bin mean nothing. There are probably 50 variations on .pak files alone, depending on the developer, and .bin is likely the same container that EA has used for a long time that's never been cracked. Honestly this one just doesn't seem worth the modding time to me. It's fun, no doubt. But I'd much rather just get it for my 360 since it's just not built to be comfortable on the PC like Battlefront is. The controls are just really, really clunky.

I like it. Half-way done with the achievements already.
The bots also show some major improvements over BFII, as in they actually kill people in Team Deathmatch

Now I really want to get it for my birthday! Hopefully it'll come soon enough...
