I would like to say no, but as with computers as with life there are no guarantees.
But playing around with the path settings, which aren't working now anyway, should
not adversely affect anything just write down what the path currently is so you know what it should be.
Adding the windir if there wasn't one will only help.
Just some additional information the %SystemRoot% is not wrong as such it is a "holder" which should
be filled in by the windir variable.

Have you done a clean with the Localize square checked?
Try that and remunge. If you still get those errors it may the the .cfg files were corrupted by the other
problem but if you haven't done any localize editing and you have another map you are working on
(or you could just create a fluff map) you can copy the .cfg files from there. They are located in the
data_***/common/localize folder just don't copy over the Common.cfg that is you worlds information.
Glad the other error went away.
