Texture shows up weird on one side of model [Solved]

Post by Noobasaurus »

I made a rock, and then fractured it so that it was one model with a bunch of tiny chunks. Now when I apply a texture to it, the texture looks fine on all of the fractured sides of the chunks, but not the sides of the actual rock (AKA the sides that you can see when not broken).

Here are some images showing what I'm talking about:
Hidden/Spoiler:
The rock that wasn't fractured with the texture applied

The rock what was fractured with the texture applied

All of the other sides of the chunks look fine with the texture applied

Is this because the sides of the chunks are bumpy? I don't think that this should cause it. If you want the rock model, let me know. Help is greatly appreciated.

Since I'm using it for motion graphics, I use an external program to texture it. However, if I apply a shiny gold texture to it, it looks fine.

Now I did try texturing it in 3DS Max. When the images pop up showing the different parts of the rock textured, it has the weird blurry parts in the image file as part of them. So I don't think that it's a problem with the way I texture it in another program, I think that it might be my model.

EDIT: Hold on, I found the texture options and changed the texture mapping to sphere. Now some of the insides of the rocks look weird but the outside looks good. ... Alright, got it fixed by setting the texture mapping to a box. Thanks!
