Snow Mos Eisley
Here's a poll to choose the map's name! Just vote and I'll be happy.
Original Post:
Can someone give me a clue on how to make the texture of mos eisley look snowish instead of sandish?
I tried to put white on the image but it's start to get to ugly...
What I want to do is make the mos eisley houses look like they were made for snow, instead of sand. In other words, I want them to blend with a snow-based map, instead of a sand-based map.

RE: Snow Mos Eisley
Put a black-and-white filter on the textures. See how it looks in-game.

^...that didn't make too much sense...^
Option #1 - Greyscale the .tga files(make grey, white, black, etc.) Then lighten it a lot until its white, this may not turn out so good...
Option #2 - Make your own texture
Option #3 - Just go in and edit manually and make some white dots all over, and kinda have some not as opaque.
Option #4 - Have someone who is experienced with texturing and have them do it
-Hope this helped, my brain isn't functionalling too good right now...

Off-topic: Trogsasea, I think you're taking that whole buddy thing a bit out of hand. You're not the only person who sometimes asks me to do a favor...whether that be custom odfs or skin textures. Because of your recent grudge, I'm not surprised anytime now to expect a "mad girl with blue hair" to slice you/warn you to stop. You don't want to get on her bad side. In fact, I don't think anybody wants to.
Finally, the mods are not as forgiving as I am.
On-topic: Yock you could just simply replace one texture with another by renaming a hoth texture the name of the textures used for Mos Eisley (found in TAT folder I think).

I'm using tat_bldg_set01 as an example, wich is the one that has doors on it, so using a plain texture from Hoth may not look as good as a new texture made by youDroideka88 wrote:Yock you could just simply replace one texture with another by renaming a hoth texture the name of the textures used for Mos Eisley (found in TAT folder I think).
I'm just a newbie messing with textures, so I don't really know how this black and white filtering and all this things works. I don't even know where to look at
Could you give me some instructions?
Edit: After studing the textures on the model better, I realized that isn't as dificult as I thought. When I get the textures working I'm going to post a pic

I actually prefer the skin to be all snow, the house "made of snow" fits better on a snow map than a house made of earth.Karnage wrote:Well they do look pretty good. But I think instead of covering every building completely with snow, you should put snow on the roofs.
I need a name to the map, can someone help me with this?

Well, didn't the Pyn'gani of the planet Polus live in houses kind of like that? Possibly you could set it somewhere on Polus and give it a related name.-Yock- wrote:I actually prefer the skin to be all snow, the house "made of snow" fits better on a snow map than a house made of earth.Karnage wrote:Well they do look pretty good.
