Warped models with MshEx

Post by Fiodis »

I made a basic turret in XSI recently, and I'm afraid that, although it's fine in XSI, in-game it shows up like this:

A large, oversized rifle, though it too looks ok in XSI, shows up as so:

In the turret, I had 8 original parts (four barrel shapes and 4 base shapes). I textured each, then froze it's texture and then it's transforms, then I merged the four barrel shapes into one polymesh and merged the four base parts as well. In the popup box, I clicked both "merge" buttons and I then clicked "Delete Inputs".

Afterwards, I froze the barrel polymesh's texture, then froze the barrel poly's transforms. Then, after that, I froze the base polymesh's texture, then froze the base's transforms. I set it up according to the "separate parts" method in the tutorial.

Exported, the texture completely vanished from the legs, the sphere is covered in small grayish squares, and the barrel is cloned.

Now the rifle's story: I made each seperate part, then textured them. Then I froze each of their textures seperately, then froze each of the shape's transforms seperately. I didn't merge them, and I exported.

Result: the scope looks about right, and part of the side looks ok, and the barrel. The main body's texture is warped.

What am I forgetting to do?

I would try exporting your scenes as obj's and then re exporting them through crosswalk. It always works for me
