Did anyone else think that ODST looked a bit like Republic Commando combined with Metroid plus some added awesomeness that Halo gives it? The whole visor thing and the squad stuff, even when he was arming the bombs, don't know how many bombs I armed in Republic Commando...
Still looks amazing, and who wouldn't like a mixture of Metroid and Republic Commando added to the insanity that is already Halo? (that's rhetorical )
I personally think that was what they were aiming for
There aren't that many ways to do a sci-fu HUD. But yes, it does look cool.
On another note:
Is anyone else here thinking that Reach is going to be squad-based?
Teancum wrote:I'd say so. The spartans on Reach were still in squads at the time.
I thought as much. That's pretty cool, because they'd be making a game in the series with a different playstyle than the norm. And it'd be pretty cool co-op.
Teancum wrote:Okay, now I'm DEFINITELY pre-ordering ODST. Access to the Reach MP Beta, plus Sgt Johnson as an unlockable character for firefight? Yeah, sold.
Wow, that's gonna rock. I'm gonna look it up on utube.
Btw, I have a question about the series. In the very first book the Fall of Reach, why was Commander Keyes promoted to Captain? I mean, doesn't Commander outrank Captain??
This doesn't have to do with the new Halo games coming out, but I've been playing a lot of Halo CE at school lately, and wow, it's fun haha. I forgot how much fun it was.

I must be the only one here who didn't really like Halo: CE that much. Of course, if the game did really well because of the multiplayer, which I never play, then I can see why I didn't get into it that much.

I hated the game at first, it's something you grow into.
I haven't seen much of ODST as I haven't really looked to hard (don't own a 360) but from what I have seen it looks awesome. Also I just saw the teaser for Halo: Reach the video game. Finally get to play with a team of SPARTAN's!!
I do hope that the game is like the book, I really enjoyed the Halo novels.
I hope I'm not straying too far from the topic now, but could someone elaborate on the difference between Halo and Halo CE? I've looked on the net for hours, but I couldn't get a clear answer. I mean, Combat Evolved and Custom Edition aren't the same, are they?
Halo CE typically refers to the actual full title of the first game Halo: Combat Evolved. However it also refers to Halo Custom Edition. They are the same engine, except Custom Edition is the version of the game that can be modded. Plus Custom Edition is only multiplayer, as in the campaign is not in it.
