Donkey Kong Country 3 for the SNES. Not a terribly hard game, but when you only have about 2-3 days a year to beat it (Can only play it on our yearly trip to my grandma's house) and each year you come back and your savegame has disappeared... it's given me some hard times. I was sooooo happy to (almost) beat it. Sadly I didn't get to finish the Lost World.

I tried that to limited effectiveness, and pretty much booked it the entire way through that one cesspit. Still creeps me out to this day...AQT wrote: Anything with dianogas and dark places used to scare me.I think the best way to overcome that level was to search for and kill (shoot like crazy!) every single dianoga first before they pop right up in your face. And then all you have to worry about is the dark!
*shudders*
I seem to remember Mysteries of the Sith being a bit tougher than Dark Forces, or at least when you get to start playing as Mara Jade. The last three of four levels were especially difficult, seeing how you could only use your lightsaber. Those statues that came to life would kill you pretty easily, and the vornskyrs were nearly impossible to kill. On top of that, Dromund Kaas was downright nightmarish, an didn't look as pleasant as it does in the current screenshots of The Old Republic.
