Turret Question - Failed to add a space turret on land maps.
It may be pretty obvious, maybe you can't add a space type turret on a land map, but you know, I want to mod the Imperial Box Turret to become a ground Turbo Laser Tower, first I tried the most simple way to add it.
1.- Loaded tur_bldg_spa_imp_chaingun into my LUA (as this one has the model I want)
2.- Put a par of those in my map.
3.- Munged Common + tur Side.
Once in-game there was nothing, so I tried using a copy ODF/REQ and munged again, nothing, then I put the MSH call on a ground turret ODF copy, yet nothing, can someone help me with this?

Re: Turret Question - Failed to add a space turret on land maps.
I don't think that space turrets work on land because in a tutorial I read on how to put capital ships on land maps, it said to make sure to remove the turrets from the capital ship. I believe this was somewhere in the Lucas Arts forum. Google "how to put water on a map", go to the Lucas Arts forum, and somewhere down in the discussion, it should mention about taking the turrets off.

rthere is nearly no difference between space and land maps, the turrets work on land maps as usual, does the bf2log give you any errors?

There is no difference between a land map and a space map, except for the absence of terrain. The only reason people think there's a difference is because Visualmunge sets them up differently by default.
If you can't add turrets, it's either because you're missing files or because you haven't added memorypools for them.

I can add ground turrets, but no space turrets, they even show up in ZE with a very brilliant color (if that makes any sense), do you think those need a different memory pool setting?
I can't get a BF2Log because I have the DVD version and my computer has limited resources to try using the micro-server method.
Maybe there is something else.

Turrets are turrets are turrets. I don't know what you mean by "ground turrets" and "space turrets" because there is no difference. There's a difference between AI-controlled turrets and remote turrets (i.e. the turrets you can use in space by sitting in the turret chair), but neither of those are exclusive to land or space, even in the stock maps.vampire_lord wrote:I can add ground turrets, but no space turrets, they even show up in ZE with a very brilliant color (if that makes any sense), do you think those need a different memory pool setting?

Thanks, I never thought there would be a DVD debug tool, time to check some stuff then.
