Tis now the very witching time of night when churchyards yawn and (heck) itself breathes contagion to this world...
I honestly used to hate Shakespeare with a dying passion because his works never ended well and they're so hard to read, but Hamlet is actually very engaging. I'm enjoying this oe so far.

As for myself, I'm picking up Asimov's Foundation series for the first time. We're doing a project in English in which we have to pick a famous contemporary American author from a predefined list and read some of his/her works, then type some kind of paper. I was planning to get to Foundation for a while now, so imagine my joy when, against all odds, I see Asimov on the list next to Sue Monk Kidd and Amy Tan.AQT wrote:Shakespearean comedies exist too you know.
As for other works I'm reading, I'm flying through The Chronicles of Amber for the eigth time or so. They're about 1,200 or so pages in all but I do so adore the story that it usually takes me a few days. Aye, Zelazny was a master of his art.

Foundation is good, I just finished the Caves of Steel by him, read Voyage of Slaves by Brian Jacques, and started The Currents of Space - Asimov.

Heh, I read a fair bit of Jaque's Redwall series. They're not bad, actually.

Agreed, I've read all of them, most of them up to 5 times. Voyage of Slaves is 3rd part of the Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. Which is also a good, if smaller, series.

Recently read Georges by Dumas. It's not a well known book, but it's REALLY worth reading.
And right now I'm reading Hero of Our Time by M.U. Lermontov.

My current book: "The Insider's Guide to the UN."
One of the few books that's actually very objective. It interests me because I'm in Model UN.

I just finished the second book in the Alien Chronicles. The series is based off of unused Star Wars concept art and has an all alien cast. It's pretty cool.

Tell me, is that a good book? I've only seen the TV adaptation of Jeeves and Wooster, and I've been considering reading the books.GangsterJawa wrote:Have you never read them? Or are you just rereading them?vegati wrote:Im on pg 100 of The Magicians Nephew by C.S Lewis. I love this book.

Well I've only read the first chapter, and I can already tell it's going to be brilliant.Ping wrote:Tell me, is that a good book? ""I'd like to buy a book."
"Now of course, I should have known never to consider buying a book when at a book shop, because it only serves to startle and bewilder the inmates.""
