Adding custom sound

Post by Hunted_One »

I need to know how to add custom sound to my guns. I'm using Majinrevan's source files, and I want to add the .wav files for the DC-17M ICWS carbine. The sounds are like gunfire, reload, switch, ect. It is pretty strange when the carbine fires with no sound.

What must I do to get this working? I studied the pack's filestructure, and added a similar one in my rep side folder. I copied the files to the same spots they were in those directories. I did find a file named MODID.asfx. Does this have to do with the sounds being read by the game? Oh and I found a file in "AU" format, which I can't run, with was called (insert name). Any idea what this does? Thanks in advance.

Read and follow this, which will set you up for general sound changes (this is necessary for custom sounds):

And then this, which is for custom sounds:

Also, just so you know, AU format aren't playable sounds, they're text documents. Open em with a text editor.
