Action, without a doubt. I mean, after all Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 are action games....
But, every once and a while, I play a nice puzzle-type game like Tetris

Real-time strategy is best for me, though I love first-person shooters and puzzles too

Anything that is fun to play.

Though I often find myself making my way through linear levels with a lot of guns, so yeah I'm a FPS fan.

Action and Adventure. Games like Final Fantasy VII or Chrono Trigger fit the bill perfectly.

To pick a nit here, those are role-playing games, which is a completely different type of game. Action and adventure are often lumped into a single genre (action-adventure) which would include games like the Zelda series.

Agreed Mav, this is a very limited poll here. You might've considered: Racing, RPG's, FPS's, and Sports games; among others.

But I guess Action/Adventure, for me anyway.

First Person Shooters all the way. I just got Crysis; best First Person Shooter I have ever played. I love to use tactics and such in games so Shooters are good for me!

Strategy would have to be second.
Even though I do like first-person shooters like Halo would be third. But how come it says "first person shooters/shooters"?
Role playing games would be fourth.

because when I think of shooter I think of "shooters" I think of top down space craft shooters (Project Starfighter, Space invaders)

I'm going to go with

1.) RTS
2.) FPS
3.) Sports

May I ask, where is the sports option?!

I love Madden and skating games.

Of course, if it were not for Battle for Middle Earth and Age of Mythology, Action/FPS games would be on top, easy.

Not Age of Empires, eh? I suggest looking into 2 if you haven't already, it's quite fun. Empire: Total War looks good too, but I haven't bought it yet. Still, I have to say RPG, because the one game I have that fits in that category is the one I by far play the most.
