Hey all, if you frequent the Glamour Shots topic you may have already seen some early pics of this mod. I'm now at the point where I can announce and show off my most recent work.
I'm taking a forced break from mapping for the time being, seeing as my ZeroEditor is having serious crashing problems. If you remember my Gylesh: Seabed WIP, then you know what I'm talking about. Basically, I don't want to risk corrupting my maps due to these crashes. However, I found that I still had an undying desire to mod, despite the fact that I couldn't map. Thus, this project was born. Once I've solved my ZE problems, I'll continue Gylesh, but for now, this mod is my focus.
This is an era mod which adds the Ultimate Clone Wars era to all shipped maps. The UCW era consists of a new unit set-up which is essentially a much-improved version of the idea behind the KotOR sides I used in my Earth: Town map. Also, while this mod may contain some canon parts, there's also some non-canon things, such as my 607th legion and some other made-up units. Some notable features include:
-Random clone legions, commando units, and heroes for all maps. (Thanks to Mav's random heroes script)
-AI Heroes
-Enhanced side layout
-New lasers, sounds, effects, etc.
-New characters based on the Clone Wars television series
-Balance and difficulty similar to the shipped game. (Maybe a little bit harder)
-New maps (once I get ZE working) For now, I've got a couple of mostly finished maps I'll be using, such as Torvik: Sunken City and Dantooine: Lakeside.
-Maybe some new gamemodes. (Siege/ Prison Break)
-Possible edited melee combat system
Sides:
The sides consist of three basic classes: a light unit, a medium unit, and a heavy unit. Unlockable classes include a support unit, a melee unit, and a commado. Other classes vary by legion, and include units such as commanders or unique, non-Hero units.
Medium Class (Clone Trooper/ B1 Battle Droid)
--Average speed and health.
-1. Blaster Carbine: High rate of fire, but low damage, ammo count, and poor accuracy.
-2. Light Pistol: Low rate of fire and quick to overheat, but fairly high damage.
-3. Thermal Detonator: Standard grenade, effective against all unit types.
Light Class (Clone Scout Trooper/ B1 Droid Scout)
--High speed and low health. Also has a limited jetpack.
-1. Scout Sniper Rifle: Weak sniper rifle that fires in bursts of three.
-2. Light Pistol: (See Medium Class - Light Pistol)
-3. EMP Grenades: (Republic) High damage and quick to explode, but low radius. Only affects droids.
-3. Concussion Grenades: (CIS) Low damage and small radius, but causes units to be knocked down.
Heavy Class (Clone Assault Trooper/ B2 Super Battle Droid)
--Low speed but decently high health.
-1. Blaster Rifle/ Wrist Blaster: Medium rate of fire and high-power. Better accuracy than Carbine.
-2. EMP Grenades: (Republic) (See Light Class - Emp Grenades)
-2. Concussion Rocket: (CIS) Medium powered rocket with knockback ability.
-3. Thermal Detonators: (Republic) (See Medium Class - Thermal Detonators)
Support Class (Clone Support/ Droid Support)
--Low speed and high health.
-1. Blaster Carbine: (See Medium Class - Blaster Carbine)
-2. Fusion Cutter: Standard mechanic's tool.
-3. Health/Ammo Kits: Droppable health and ammo packages.
-4. Remote Droid: Remote-controlled droid used to spy on enemies and survey the battlefield from a safe distance.
Melee Class (Varies by legion, but includes MagnaGuard and Clone Assassin)
--Stats vary by character.
-1. Melee Weapon: (Again, varies by the character)
-2. Stealth: (Some melee units have stealth ability, but not all)
And then there's the commandos, commanders, and other units, but I won't list those here since their weapons are all so different.

And more eventually, but this is all I have for now. It's a simple proccess to add new legions since I already have the unit templates done, so feel free to suggest legions.
And, per the WIP rules, here are some screens. Note that these are all taken on either Coruscant or Mustafar; these are my favorite maps, and, for the most part, I use them for testing.

Update 5/9/09
Haven't actually had an update yet... nothing really to show from the past few days, mostly just bugfixing and weapon tweaking. However, I do now have the Republic Commandos (all four of them, plus two of my own) in as a random unit. CIS commando units still to come, but will include droidekas and commando droids.

I added in some legion-specific classes. These are classes with specialized roles for the most part, such as demolition or sniping.

What? A new map? Impossible!![]()
But alas, I have installed the mod tools on my second computer for the sole purpose of creating new maps for this mod. I had a really strong desire to make something, and this is what my imagination spawned. I haven't named it yet, so feel free to suggest a planet name. Here's some screenshots.

I'll also have Dantooine. Not my old one (which nobody ever played, because I never released it) because for whatever reason, some time ago I remade the map into a complete piece of rubbish. It's waaaay too big, open, boring, flat.... need I go on? So I'll be making a new Dantooine from scratch. Also expect a Geonosis, because what Clone Wars mod would be complete without one?Trust me, it'll be different from most Geonosis maps.
