Ah, good you're just talking about it - wouldn't it be great to include Kamioán doors for Kaminoan hallways ?

There is...but it's not exactly practical. You would have to directly edit it in the appropriate file, NOT using zeroeditor.

If the object is in the [base] layer open the WLD file. If it is in a different layer open the LYR file with the appropriate. Also you've got to use wordpad, because notepad totally screws up the spacing of the file.

You gotta use the search function to find the object your looking for.
You'll find something like this.

Code: Select all

Object("tan4_bldg_corridor_02_b29", "tan4_bldg_corridor_02_b", 57131819)
{
	ChildRotation(0.668, 0.000, 0.744, 0.000);
	ChildPosition(-603.046, 192.941, 186.875);
	SeqNo(57131819);
	Team(0);
	NetworkId(-1);
}
Basically, you got to mess around with ChildRotation and ChildPosition until you know what you're doing. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to do once you got the hang of it.

There is also a 'snap to grid' button in the 'object' interface that makes the objects snap around on an invisable grid... if you want fine tuned control click it so it turns grey, then it doesn't do any 'jumping' about.

well euh about that idea of the exploding bridge why not say like putting the mygeetan shields in and where the bridge was just a empty lookin space room where a damage area is of effect so if you enter one way or another you die pretty quick

Here we are now:

red = turbo lasers
blue = remote turret
green = capturable cp
yellow = critical system

Image

One of the critical systems is going to be moved and I'll see about an elevator for the command deck (which will also be moved).

ToDo:
1) Stuff mentioned above
2) Path to reactor core
3) Patch those unintended windows
4) Put some defenses in there
5) Portal and Sector
6) Script like crazy
7) Trudge on to the Star Destroyer

Way off topic: haha I bet if Xwingguy came out and said "map canceled" there would be at least 20 pgs. more of
"what??!...no way...it cant be true...awww....that sux...WHYYYYYY...ect."
I have a feeling that if you canceled this an elite team of ninjas would be "visiting" your house in the middle of the night... :twisted:

Been watching this thread a while, Haven't posted, but must say I am quite impressed. I have never seen anyone put so much work into interiors of a capital ship. All I can say is keep up the good work, and do whatever you want to with the map-don't always go with every suggestion you recieve (if you want to lol). So will you see all the rooms from space? Either way, it would look cool in my opinion. You could see people running around...spy on them lol.

why arent the hallways correctly alligned? i bet it looks like crap walking through them and seeing them clip through one another. also, why so many critical systems? it would just be faster and easier to just hop in a bomber and take the ship out the FUN way. also for most of us post some shots of the map in action with some kinda FPS counter goin so we can see how slow it plays with all this useless stuff. also i would like to see how half the effects in the map just no longer work cause all the memory in the game is just eaten up so that things like engine glows and trail effects no longer show cause theres no room for them. i thought id add some constructive criticism since no one else does and all they post is "OMG OMG OMG!!11111111" also is there any real accuracy to this map, is there a nebulon-b frigate, MC80a, executor and numerous other key elements to make it the battle of endor?

the hallways are no correctly alligned because the hangars are not placed parallely.And as the hangar slot are given already given to each ship, the hallway clipping would Pandemic's fault.

And seeing how big the battle of endor was (look here - over forty ISDs)
it's not compulsory that all elements seen in the movie are included - the battle portrayed in BaE could also be an "cleaning up" after the destruction of the executor and the D2.

Grand Admiral Osvald Teshik escaped the destruction of the Death Star and instead of fleeing as his colleagues Takel and Makati did, unsuccesfully tried to rally the fleet and fought on alone for three more hours until his flagship, Eleemosynary succumbed to barrages of Ion Cannon fire and was captured. He was later executed for war crimes by Rebel authorities. - Source: Wookiepedia, link mentioned above

Do you see what I mean ?

this is really random and off topic:

your statement made me realize why pandemic/lucasarts cut out and did not do more extensive interiors of the cap ships. they realized that people will want to jump into a starfighter and blow stuff up, not sneek around numerous halls of a cap ship when in a "space" battle. so maybe having extensive interiors will just be for show cause i bet people would rather zip round in an a-wing then walk around aimlessly through countless halls in the cap ship. there was just no use for the interiors to be big. thats why pandemic left them out. (IMO) i hate to say this and dont bash me or anything but all of x-wing's work on the interiors could quickly go to waste, cause people will want to fly not walk around empty halls (except for droids) i not saying this map is bad or anything or that the interiors are spectacular, just that theres really no use for them.

but x-wing, dont let me stop you, your interiors are great and i cant wait to explore them, just ill propbably spend more if not all of my time in the air(space).

wot's with all the demoralizing on this page???
and xwingguy wanted to make this map for conquest and some other gamemodes, so you could(but it would not be original conquest, we have assault for that) have conquest if everything was in space only,
maybe most will be playing in space in space, but for conquest i would say that capturing a CP is important too, + if this map is intended for online multiplayer(which i sertainly hope for)
then a team would get the advantage of kicking out a CP ship from the inside
wot even if most will fight in space, he will(probably but most sertainly)
be the first one to do this, and that's pretty awesome.'
perhaps gametoast should have a counter with this map telling how many had downloaded this map.
and even if this map isn't canon, it has included many things that LA/PM
forgot, like the proper use of those shieldorbs for example.

keep up the good work!

how is it thier fault that he places hallways from another map that dont even match and places them out of alignment, quit blaming Pan for your problems, its getting sad sounding and old hearing it.

No. You're way off. How in the world would it be Pandemic's fault. They made their halls for 1 pupose. Now, if Xwingguy wants to put a map together with 'spare parts' and make it work, more power to him. But it is in no way Pandemic's fault.

Yeah guys, lets stay on topic with the map... does it really matter whose fault the halls are? They work anyway, don't they? And if xwing wants to make huge hallways, it's just another reason to play the map over and over to get a different experience with the game. Personally I think the halls will be a huge contribution to the gameplay, and there might even be surprises in there that xwingguy isn't telling us about. :lol:

minilogoguy18, you are being quite rude. Let xwingguy do what he wants. Personally, i think this map is what space battles shoud have been like. Keep up the good work xwingguy!
