Problem With Texturing During Munge

Post by EraOfDesann »

Um...Okay.

Let me start by saying that if this problem is not solved, then Methlyn: Ruins will have to stay as-is.

Okay. Whenever I munge my map it says, "TextureMunge.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the pain-in-the-Diet Dr. Pepper inconvenience, but we enjoy pissing you off." Okay, the first sentence is what it really says. Hopefully, I didn't have to tell you that... Anyway, back to topic, when I play the map after that the ground is entirely white. I tried SP Test, but the log didn't tell me anything. Surprise, surprise.

What may have caused it: I was doing another map at the same time. In this particular map, I changed the colors of some objects' tga files. Being a total clutz, I saved Methlyn over the other map. That's about all I can think of because I haven't done any meddling with the tga files for Methlyn.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if some expert modder wouldn't mind me e-mailing them the DataModId folder so they can "investigate", it'd be super-duper appreciated. Thanks in advance, and have a good day.

Why'd it disappear from the World folder? I had it in there. Oh well. Thanks Delta, I'll check that out.

Maybe they are saved in the incorrect format?

I haven't changed any textures for this map, though. However I think that the Naboo textures I used for the ground may be the problem. During munge it often says those textures aren't found right before that message I mentioned earlier appears.

I'll check that and I'll look at the _build folder.

Edit- Okay, I switched the Naboo textures with fresh ones but I don't know if it helped any. I munged and right when it gets to, "Munging meth1_map.tga" that's when the problem occurs. Pic below.

Alright I checked the meth1_map.tga and it's the problem. How do I get another meth1_map.tga? I thought that it was automatically created in the datamodID world1 folder after starting the map.

Also about the memory, that message has only shown up when I have that texture problem. After this map I've started other ones and that message never shows up during their munge. Basically, I'm just wondering if the "memory message" is related to the texture problem.

Anyway, thank you everyone for your help. I really appreciate it! :D
