just had an idea!

maybe as the common first unit for the vong should be their special reptilian drones the vong use mainly as cannon fodder, they would be as powerful as the vong maybe but you could make them very fast to compensate cos they don't use blasters.

*smack* im an idiot. i understand now. yeah an invisible shield would be nice, sorta like the one for the current hangars, except invisible and stretching across teh top of the lz.

hendaz i'd already found that picture but yes it is an excellent one. the amphistaff doesn't look too good though, it doesn't even have a head.

including the chazrach (the reptilian fodder) is a good idea, but i don't think they should be the standard unit. they might make good engineers tho, although shapers would work too. or maybe we could include them in place of the main warrior on just a couple of maps.

or, we could make the vong different from the other races, having:

1. amphistaff vong warrior
2. ranged vong warrior
3. chazrach w/ coufee
4. and a shaper (similar to the other factions engineers)

as the first four you can pick from the beginning of the level.
we could have:

5. slayers
6. something else (voxyn perhaps)

as the two that you must earn points to play as.
so i guess we'd take out the sniper and replace it with the chazrach essentially. we could have the chazrach run really fast & be able to sprint for a really long time to make up for the lack of long ranged units.

a most excellent reference site orix thank you. i'm sure we'll be referring to it when figuring out what weapons to give to whom.
but trans, it only lists 5 castes, and several of them really wouldn't be engaging in battle.

chazrach are the vongs reptoid slave troopers. basically, fodder. i'd always visualized them as sort of like the trandoshan slavers (the short ones) in republic commando.

a coufee is another vong melee weapon, shorter than an amphistaff, and i dont think it can change into a whip or shoot poison. vong warriors use it as a sort of "backup" weapon they also give it to their slaves because coufees are much easier to handle, and the slave implants make them rather clumsy & dullwitted.

by the force that would be totally bodatious dude! (pardon the bill & ted language) they are perhaps the only unit which could ever effectively pwn the vong warriors! They are made out to be soooooo effective against the vong in the novels!

& thats a pretty freaky picture, but its got nice details.

Aye, that picture is a good representation of just how inhumane those Yuuzhan Vong really are!

I mean who in their right mind would wear that type of headbrace just to have straight teeth!

On another note, wouldnt that kind of detail be next to very, very difficult to model if BF2 uses the same modelling tools as in BF1?

Why don't you just mod all of swbf2 to the Yuuzhan Vong and the EU. So like you will include the basis for a big project based on the two forces and people can add to your project when your finished with it by making new maps etc. Plus it would be much more fun to have a campaign version and galactic conquest aswell as instant action and multiplayer. You will be practically laying down the whole story in the mod where you can interact your favourite battles. For cut scenes in campaign you can use comics on the Vong and EU. So hendaz, dreadlordnyax and the rest of you willing to participate start doing some artwork (for menus, also could use comic covers or novel covers etc), music, models and all for Trans to use in the mod. That is if you are bothered to make this big. And those are orders, failure in doing so will result in 500 years of lashings.

Azul at the beginning do you mean releasing the SIDES and models etc. for people to use in their own maps?

I meant that once you release your mod, other modders can download it or the models etc, to furthur your mod by making more maps and random things for it. But your mod will be the initial release and their maps and things will be like add-ons or expansion packs if you will.

i would love a yuzahn vong map, but how would you get yuzyahn yong ships and people? it would take forever to work that out, and you would have to ge tnew weapons like thud bugs or razor bugs

for the specifics of that we'll obviously have to wait for the tools to be released. so, as azul suggested, i will attempt to begin some artwork. my gaming computer's video card is unfortunately messed up, so i'll begin working on some sketches & see how they turn out. once my computer is up i can also do some photoshop composites for the menu of already existing images.
