Selection only messes it up

Selection only messes it up

I know that when i export as an xsi im supposed to uncheck selection only but when i do that mshex doesnt work and when i leave it checked it works. Yes it is weird. I select the dummyroot and everything in it.

So what's the problem? You do one thing and it works, you do the opposite, and it doesn't.
