FYI, enabling shadows and specular in ZE requires only a few seconds; it literally just takes two clicks.

I do not understand the last half of your question? But all you gotta do is ask to beta (which you did). I will put you on the list and then I will private message the link to the beta. All you gotta do is play it and report bugs.

I already know practically all of the bugs I need to fix so far, so all should be good there, but every little bit helps.

Beta testing is fairly simple and all you gotta do is install it like you would do any map. Beta testing however, is not simply early access to a map in progress so one could just 'play to have fun'. It may look like it, but beta testing requires feedback to the author of the map about bugs and other issues such as balancing among other things. Suggestions are also appreciated. Granted, that does not mean you can't have fun while beta testing.

Edit - I accidentally double-posted, sorry. Browser was acting up or something, but something weird happened regardless.
Thanks for the information! Now everything is clear!

I'm not sure if you've seen it, but some time ago Hero_Unit released a Lok map centered around a junkyard. It might be worth downloading for ideas/comparison/whatever. Yours seems very nice though. :D

@Fiodis: Yes, that's the map I was thinking about. Here's a link for the ones who want to try it: http://www.gamefront.com/files/20294615/Lok.7z
@RSL: I tested the map with both eras, that was fine, the objects were nicely placed and perfectly fit with the environment/atmosphere. I just can say the CPs are very near the ones from the other ones so it's pretty chaotic. I think a campaign mode would be really cool if the map was bigger. After that, I didn't notice any bug, I continue to play if I can see one :D
So great map

About the sides, since the vote doesn't work for me, I post here: I choose
Lok Revenants vs IG-88 (GCW)
and Lok Revenants vs CIS (SW: Jedi Starfighter)

Yeah, I knew of that other one, I just thought another map based on the planet would be nice.

Also, thanks for that Helkaan, I always tried looking for that map. And thanks for voting!

Update: Well, it's more of an "I've come to a conclusion." post.

Lok Revenants vs Trade Federation and Empire vs IG-88 seems to have gotten the majority votes for those respective eras. There's always later maps to focus on the Rebellion, right? Right.

After I fix a few errors and adjust a few things, I'll go ahead and get to the sides. I just wanted to establish a vote on this, as I wanted an equal say among the community on what they want. This is going to be interesting, making the Lok Revenants. I would appreciate a Feeorin model, but I may have to use a reskinned Kit Fisto as stated, and that is fine with me.

If I run into any problems with my sides, I will post in the modding forum or seek guidance from a few of you who I have on X-fire. For those who want to add me personally on X-fire, check my profile, otherwise I will post in the modding section if I run into a serious problem if I can't find my answers otherwise. Knowing my luck, I'll probably have a few issues. Anyways, RSL out for now.

Sounds good to me. And I think a reskinned Kit Fisto will do just fine for the Feeorins.

Indeed, considering their same basic shape. Nym will be a hero for the Lok Revenants. For the Trade Federation, I am unsure. For IG-88's army, well....self-explanatory....and I'm thinking for the Empire....hmm...General Otto (since he was stationed on Lok), but I'm not sure. I've seen too many times where Boba Fett or Vader or some other dark Jedi were the heroes/villains for the Imperial side. Looking at the information, however, General Otto seemed to not be very efficient in his command due to spice addiction and losing many battles. Would send Commander D'krn, but he was involved in the Death Watch Bunker stuff. I don't know, maybe it can be a recurring theme. Though it kinda stinks that Commander D'krn is going in to clean up General Otto's mess.

A debate on whether or not this would be a waste of resources for the Galactic Empire is greatly welcomed, but let's just leave this topic to suggestions and status updates and any concerns about Imperial resource management can be PM'd to me or given to me on X-fire.

Lok is a great planet! My vote goes to the Lok Pirates vs the Trade Federation.
I hope that one day a good pirate base map will be made.

I feel like Mav's Abraxas Platform 2.0 sort of fills that role already. Unless you mean a good pirate land base map, in which case yes, I hope it will be made.

And, for the record, my vote is also cast in favor of Lok Pirates vs the Trade Federation.

Sorry to the OP for the slight diversion - both feel free to try: http://www.gamefront.com/files/17296492/PAB.exe/
I believe it is a "pirate" map, although the moniker is really pretty negligible since I can't think of anything that would be map-specific (versus side-specific) that indicates a good "pirate map."

Update: I will admit, lately I have been a bit lazy, but it's all because I'm going to a wedding on the 7th as Best Man(it is actually on the 10th when the wedding happens) and I won't be back until sometime around the 14th, so I am a bit on edge.

However, I will be sure to get the layout for the sides done soon. So since majority vote ruled for the Lok Revenants vs the Trade Federation (CW) and the Empire vs IG-88 (GCW), I'll be sure to get started on those sides ASAP.

As for CressAlbane's suggestion, I will definitely have to make the Lok Revenant main base soon. I have actually been wanting to see that. Though I might aim more for the SWG version, though there was more space in the Starfighter version. I might go in between, or just come up with my own rendition.

I've got all the beta reports I need, even though not all the beta slots were filled, but that's fine. I will address those when I can. I thank those who gave me plenty of feedback. I had a feeling the list will grow a tad more as more people reported back. Thank you all. I hope this will be an awesome map. I maybe taking awhile on it and I apologize to those who want to play it, however, I want to spend as much time as I need on it to make it as good of a map it can be on first release as a 1.0. And then additions and fixes can come afterward. ;) Quality over quantity.

Update: Hey guys. As I've said, the wedding really cut into my mapping, but I should be getting back to it soon since on the 13th I got back from doing my wedding duties (the wedding went fine, by the way).

My main objective is to fix all the serious errors with the map and getting the sides done. I am sorry for the wait for everyone. I have not lost interest, I was just put through a hectic time. No worries, I will get back to work on it.

Nah, he was best man. Still nice, though. Congratulations to your friend. :D

If there is still a spot left, could I beta? I know it's a bit late but the title seems to indicate there's still room.

@Fiodis: Sure thing. I will be sure to add you to the list and PM the details when I can (I'm also working on a video for a friend. That's just business related, though.). Along with listing all the bugs the other guys reported. :)

And yep, he's happily married. I consider him pretty much a brother (and his wife I've considered a sister for a long time as well). They're pretty nice people. :D

@My Map: I'll probably type up the side layouts today. I've been meaning to do that, but life cut into the project pretty hard. But need not worry, I will release this map! If there's one thing I want to do - I want to release at least ONE map here at GT. I just feel I never contributed to the community enough, so I made this. On top of that, it was a project I wanted to do for awhile now anyways. Look at it as a sort of expansion to the TEV mod, kind of. I'll be sure to type up the list of maps I'm wanting to do and people here can tell me whether it's feasible or not, or at the very least whether it's a good or bad idea.

EDIT
Update[OCT 19, 2011]: Sorry for the bump. I'm sure people here thought I lost interest in this map...well, I haven't! In-fact, I think I have my sides layout I want typed up for the Pirates, but now it's just the matter of getting to doing this.

Also, I kind of want to rename the map, because technically what I'm basing this map on isn't a junkyard....rather it's Nym's Factory Compound where IG-88, at one point, builds up his droid army (1 ABY). I should have remembered what it was called, but a fail on my part caused me to call the compound a junkyard, because I remember it being rather....well...what's the term? Junky looking?

Link to information.

Nym originally used this place to hide his treasures. I guess people would mistaken it for a junk heap of a place at first glance and not even bother to mess with it (which, ideally, yes...is a great place to hide treasures because people would not care for it because of the lack of appeal).

Or I could keep the name and suggest that the surface was pretty messy and could easily disguise an entrance into a factory compound and it was falsely named a junkyard?

I have no idea, however, here is my suggested sides layout for the Lok Revenant side:

Lok Revenants

Pirate
Blaster Rifle (or Disruptor Rifle), Blaster Pistol, Thermal Detonators, EMP Grenades (droid poppers).

Pirate Heavy
[Heavy weapon. Unsure as to what. Rocket launchers get a bit boring.], Blaster Pistol (or carbine), Thermal Detonators, IM Mines (need a DF95 reference somewhere).

Pirate Assassin
Sniper Rifle or Normal Rifle with Enhanced Scope, Blaster Pistol (perhaps even flechette pistol or a unique blaster Acrypt happens to make from SWG), Thermal Detonators, Cloak, Turret (I probably want a better looking turret model. Something more practical and a bit more difficult to destroy...maybe smaller. Something a unit can actually carry and deploy on the battlefield by merely reaching into a pocket and tossing it out there for easy deployment.)

Pirate Smuggler
Shotgun, flechette pistol, or maybe dual repeater pistols, det packs, slicer tools (fusion cutter. Maybe a different design?).

Pirate Medic
Blaster Carbine, smoke detonators (I had this idea, because you want to give the people you're trying to heal some sort of cover), bacta pack, small health buff.

Pirate Support
Grenade Launcher (thinking of what model I want for that one. I don't think the Packered Mortar Gun was made until GCW, though. Upon further research, the Packered Mortar Gun, which I'd like to use at some point, was not made until GCW. I will use it with the Galactic Empire, however. Grenade launcher suggestions maybe thrown here.), blaster pistol, sonic grenades (I realize this will get annoying, so I might change this idea), rage buff (I guess sort of like the default officer class. Except I don't think a Pirate group would have 'Officers' per say, aside from "Captain", which Nym is by this point.), Ammo Box

Pirate Gunner
Repeater cannon, blaster pistol, thermal detonators, EMP grenades, deployable E-web

Hero: Nym
Slugthrower Carbine (either this or the J-1 Rifle), disruptor pistol, Thermal Detonators, Trip Mines, Time Bomb, Rally Buff (since Nym is the commander here, I gave him the Rally Buff. I am unsure if I want him to be a timed hero like the default ones or if I want him to be unlocked. If he will be unlocked, then I see no point in adding actual 'heroes'.)

_____

As for the Trade Federation, I was thinking little more than what BF1 had in terms of the side. However, I may try and incorporate some of the more interesting technology of the Trade Federation.

Anyways, please let me know on if you guys want me to change some of the pirates up, because I fear a few of those classes maybe rendered pointless somehow. I do NOT want useless units. I want it to be different enough that the side is enjoyable, however, I do not want any useless units or to be unbalanced somehow.

I am going to have to think of the sides for IG-88 and the Empire soon as well.

Also, yes, I apologize. It's been almost a month since the last update, but I AM still working on it. I just needed a break to think of exactly what I wanted for that side...and what I think people would like, but you guys have a say, of course.

I have by no means lost interest in the map.

Cheers guys. When I actually start making the units, I'll be sure to post a few pictures of what I have working. I plan on going all out on this. Quality over quantity.

That'd be cool, thank you! No pressure of course. :D

Edit: Update [OCT 26, 2011]

Here we have my custom loadscreen! I failed the first time at getting it in, however, I think it was just a few misplaced brackets. ;) I went long enough without giving people a new media update. Yes, as you can see, I renamed the map. :D Thank you very much, editlocalize.bat! ;)

Nice loading screen image, Revan!
Hidden/Spoiler:
To fix the stretching problem, try arbitrarily scaling the original image you used, without the black bars, to a square, preferably to 1024x1024 (you can add the black bars back in if you want afterwards). Then in-game, the game will stretch your image back to how it actually looked originally. :D
