Maybe about 350 tris. ctrl+; FTW!

Wait, I was way off... 918 tris. And Tsurugi, it's not UV'd. It's just got cubic on it. And cylindrical. And then it also has more than one texture, even though it's all one object. But I will try.

Here is the new version of my tank, looks a lot better than the other one I think:
Also if anyone knows how to curve the sides of the treads to match the shape of the wheel, please let me know how.

I dunno if you should listen to this, but for my tank what I did is make a bunch of little cubes and rotated them then put them together around the wheels.

Good improvement. I would add more detail into the actual wheels and the top of the tank. Anyway, here are some of mine! Its a giant maze for the tryouts of the galactic conquest idea from Silas.
Tell me what you think!
This is made of four objects: Two cubes, a sphere, and a cylinder.

The Morita is not a Battle Rifle Spin-off, it was seen in the Starship Troopers movie that was released in 1997, where as the Battle Rifle was seen in 2004 in Halo2.
I'm not too worried about rounding out the Grip as, it's ont thing you'll barely notice ingame, besides, with some clever texturing I could make you think it was round. The less Polys the less RAM and GPU cycles this thing will eat up. I might detail the clip a bit more though as the Morita clip has a "shell" on it.
Original Refrence pic I used to make the model. and the current model side by side for comparison. Let me know it you have any suggestions for improvement
Nice improvements to the tank redgroupclan, but the rectangular treads look pretty bad, if you want to round the sides, select the edges along the x-axis and try the bevel tool or try this vid on how to make tank treads for individual tread plates. Its slightly more complicated and can be pretty high poly but it looks pretty neat.

Re: Model showcase thread Part II
I might, though right now its all been combined into one object, so it isn't like you could use individual tunnels or anything, just the whole of it.

That... is... utterly insane. All of the past models are sweet, by the way. I'm especially liking the new guns.

Looks really nice - but assuming you're not going to get really close, wouldn't it be a lot more efficient to bumpmap it instead of detailing everything on?Gogie wrote:my D star

Re: Model showcase thread Part II
No kidding, when I was in early production of Emag, there where only a few major modelers.
Qdin, Ace, Pyc0fred, sporadic Gogie, and Vyse; and only a fraction of them ever released anything.
Then as far as my memory goes, me and Darth_Z13 start modeling, and releasing and everyone goes: "hey they can do it." and wham, bunch of modelers.

Re: Model showcase thread Part II
You're right. Lots of new modelers have appeared... But look how many took da lazy route and said summin like "Screw UVs. I'm just gonna make my model, get the textures, and hope it works." Then again, I think I'm really the only one that does that....
BTW, VF501, I wasn't even slightly reffering to your gun as a Battle Rifle spinoff. I meant my weapon (which is sort of a cross between that and the assault rifle), Silas' gun, and Black Knight's.
