WIP - DAVENPORT: GATEWAY (an IMPS mod)

After playing Jabba's Palace (which is one of the best looking maps on my laptop :roll: ), I was inspired by the jail area to create a grimy city underworld map, like Nar Shaddaa.

But on a long drive from California to Colorado (from which I returned today... at like 2 am) I remember a sweet fan film I saw, and decided to do it tribute.

IMPS The Relentless Chapter 1, Davenport Gateway by Blacksheep Productions

Setting will be after the events in the film... watch it before continuing, because certain things in map are spoilers.

Don't say I didn't warn you....


Spawn points will include the place with Imperial banners, and the smoking, damaged red Falcon.
IMPS will have retextured AT-ST's.
Rebels will be basically same as shipped.
Imperials will be based on units seen in film, including pilot (the gal with the binoculars on the AT-ST).
Rebel and Imperial weapons will be same as shipped, most likely.
Vehicle Repair Droid will be retextured to look like the Imperial one in the film.
Including music from the episode (kindly provided on the group's site).
Only playable GCW.
Hostile Gungans, Ewoks, Gamorrians [sp?], Jawas other NPCs all with blaster pistols... to give it that multicultural feel. :P
And more.... this is a rough topic start. I'll post pics and stuff of different elements, and of some of my early work, but this is in the very early stages.

I hope to make a map for each IMPS chapter as they come out... but no promises. And I am still working on HYPORI: LAST STAND, just wanted to post this to get the news out.

Well, if you click on the link here, JK514, you can keep tabs on progress of Blacksheep Production's work. As far as I know, only the Teaser (which is worth watching as well... just like a documentary ad on History channel :p ) and Chapter 1 have been finished. It has been a while since their last website update.... but I am not affiliated in any way with Blacksheep Productions, so I don't have any inside info.

First class I was working on was the pilot class... face will look identical to a stormie, but helmet structure will be different (a ATAT pilot helmet).

if you have Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II, the planet Nar Shadaa is in it. If you cant find any pics of it from the game i could take some in game.

Well, since it isn't based on Nar Shaddaa any more, I won't need those pics, but thanks for the offer. I think I remember Nar Shaddaa as a level in the Jedi Knight series as well.

I have plenty of reference for Davenport: Gateway from the I.M.P.S. video, and from various images posted on their site. ;)

i have downloaded it, but when i click on it to play it, it gives me the speach and music, but not the video. anyhelp?

u don't have a codec. download divx to see it properly.
i just saw it and it rocks! very well-made and has some good humor. i also like those imperial laserpointer equipped carbines and light machineguns :)

Well JK514, other than the list on the first post, there isn't really anything else I could "tell" right now. I am mainly focusing on my other map, and I posted this just to get the word out there (and since I did some prelim work on it ;) ). Since I found that the cool Jabba's Palace hallways and such are all grouped into large rooms, I might have to do some modelling with this one. :| Which means figuring out the XSI Mod Tool thingy. I also hope to get some help, especially if people like the idea, but I AM NOT ASKING FOR HELP YET. :))

Just a quick update: After struggling getting the sides to work, I just made each unit it's own side, and now their all in-game. For the special imperial unit (replacing the Dark Trooper), I am going between a Imperial officer in a black uniform, that would be able to control Probots, and a Stormtrooper with the "machine gun", using the tusken rifle as the mesh. I am also reskinning the vehicle recharge droid to look like the one that opened the hangar door.
Neither Mod Tools nor the Foundation 4.2 30-day trial seem to work on my computer (just shows the little opening graphic when I start 'em up, and does nothing more) :? so it doesn't look like I'll be doing any modelling.

concerning xsi mod tools. You need to actuvate it 1st , maybe thats why it wont work?
