Moving Lots of Points at the Same Time
Hello I am making a model but I need to move several points downward at the same time. Unfortunately I have no idea how to do this. They are all at different heights and locations but I do know how to select them. Does anyone know how to move a bunch of selected points all at once? :chew: Thanks in advance.

Can you provide a screenshot showing what you have and what it is exactly you're trying to do? Moving any number of points is as easy as selecting them and translating.

Hold shift when you select the points.

My dad doesnt like me uploading anything, he is suspicious of every website, including this one. I barely convinced him to let me make an account. The only way I get screenshots up from battlefront is through xfire's automatic upload.AceMastermind wrote:Can you provide a screenshot showing what you have and what it is exactly you're trying to do? Anyways, for some reason translating the points doesnt work. Some of them fly up 10 light years above the object, while some move right below level 0 and some stay where they are. I dont know if it has to do with the fact that the points are on different objects, or hights or what.
Umm that doesnt do anything...Nedarb7 wrote:Hold shift when you select the points.
EDIT: Ok I fixed part of it, but I have a problem: Most of my objects are polymeshs made from a collection of smaller, more basic polymeshes, and I can move all of the points from each large polymesh, but the origional ones that they were made from stay the same. I cannot scale these smaller polymeshs because when I do, ALL of the correlated points on the larger objects will move too and I cant delete them because all of the parts in the larger parts get deleted too.

Hold control when selecting points to select multiple points. Is this in XSI or blender? Feel free to add me on x-fire and we can talk there. I will be happy to help you. As for deleting the points, make sure that your points are not selected when you hit delete.

I use XSI Mod Tool 7.5. But now I fixed the problem by changing the rendering properties of the original components so you cannot select them nor see them. So I guess this is solved, then.

If you freeze the polymsh objects, they will 'forget' they come from the original objects and allow you to edit them separately.

I'll keep that in mind next time.kinetosimpetus wrote:If you freeze the polymsh objects, they will 'forget' they come from the original objects and allow you to edit them separately.
