I always thought that the topic was about models.. but i guess some people are curious as to how they work.

Anyway, i present you with the M7 Assault Rifle. Some parts of the model are still undergoing improvements, and poly reduction on some places. I'm sure some of you will recognise (Fiodis :) ) where this weapon is from.

Because it is more futurist / sci-fi , maybe .

He is referring to all the extra polys added that you wouldn't really see a ton ingame, but don't mind hi poly weapon models, I think its good.

Thanks guys

There isn't much of a good reason to it but, i did it to make it look better, without the beveled sides, it looked really blocky.

Cool! What's the exact poly count? How much can bf2 take? It's kind of unfitting in a ww2 mod though :funny2: I'm kidding around.

The rifle looks great, but I think you should roughen up the texture. Right now, you have just retained the perfect/pristine nature of the concept art. (yeah, I know what you used. Look at my avatar :D ) I'm not saying get rid of the photo source completely, but make it look more realistic. Add scratches here and there, maybe a little grunge stuff. Please get rid of the horizontal stretching on the top and bottom of the weapon, and it'll be pretty much perfect :)

Agreed with Lephenix.

@Anakin: You already have a WIP thread; by the rules of the first post of this topic, please keep your WIP updates out of this thread.
