HELP!! map is freezing!

Post by Syth »

Okay alls I did was add a bunch more trees, flyer spawns, and a boundry to my map. Then I decided to test my map and it doesn't crash, but of all things it freezes and I had to restart my pc!

Ive tried a couple things, including restarting from my back-up version map, and when I got to the same point in my progress it still frezezed up on me!

DOES ANYONE here know why its freezeing like this??

EDIT: my map has 1200+ trees, might that cause this?

Yea once you get around 250 it starts to lag the editor a bit so it's possible u OD'ed so much on the trees u completly screwed the map. But anyways dude no one's gonna be able to handle that many trees, i mean Deagubah lags rly bad as does endor (on most servers) I can't imagine how bad that'd be.

a layer can only have so many objects (Exact number unknown) Add new layers and spread the trees into separate layers.

Still, try not to go overboard on the object count, especially for an outdoor environment like that can't use portals/sectors.

Yah, it was the amount of trees. I exagerated I little, Iactually had 999 trees (still alot). I had to delete a munch of them and its fine now.
