(off-topic) whew, long time since i posted any topic here!
ok on-topic
ever since the first time i launched battlefront 2, it uses about 1-3 minutes to load, both to menu and to any map or mode. i have tried to find any help about this, but now, after 3 years, im about to give up. there are so many cool mods, but my battlefront loads sooooo slow, and this problem is only for battlefront - no other games! please, anyone who knows anything about this, post any may-be-possible way to fix this, as long as it does not include bying something over internet, i will try it.
i have 60/64 free gb space on the C:\ drive and 64/64 on the D:/
i dont think its the hard drive space...
and i also only run the necessary programs like the explorer and several system required programs, sometimes also a mod-tools munging process in the background, else than that, nothing.
well... i dont know how to check my computer specifications
only thing i know is that it has only one GB of RAM

(yes i know, "get yourself a new one" my parents say "as long as your computer is usable, you will not be allowed to buy a new one")
and i dont want to lose all the files stored on it (i dont know why, since ive almost stopped modding battlefront - im trying to keep modding, but everything looks so boring without , like, the glow effect of an laser) i now have about so many addons from people here i even have made a new assets folder, since theyre full of models and props and weapons and addons and vehicles and textures and skins and... yeah, its so many things that i could even, if i were able to figure out the names of the creators of all these, i could release as an asset pack! the problem there is there must be over 1000 addons, so the file size of the credits would be 20-30 MB!
Game Settings -

640X480, lightning - low, shadows - off, texture - low, L.O.D dist 1, View Distance 1, the game runs fast on most maps, except maps with much effects (strange enough, Bantha55's Naboo map, looked Beautiful even on these settings, and it did'nt lag)

Well I run BF2 off my laptop running Vista i have had similar problems to you in the past but that was due to hardrive space issues along with other programs running in the background.
Try Safe Mode, if its available. My menu would always crash, then I tried Safe Mode and I've never had any start up problems, I don't know if it will help, but, hey, its worth a try?
to get your specs go start->My computer-> System info
if you have only on GB of RAM then you need to down grade to XP or run linux. Vista requires a minimum of 2 GB to really even function. Post what processor and what speed it clocks at.
You can also try setting /nostartupmusic in your SWBF2 shortcut so the game doesn't load the menu music. It won't solve the problem, but it may shorten the menu load time a little.
sometimes also a mod-tools munging process in the background
I hope you mean that you leave VM open, and not actively munging. With 1 Gig of RAM, I'd shut it down anyway just for that little bit of extra RAM.
Come to think of it, see what you can do about keeping the computer's internal components cool, try running the disk error checker, and defrag the drive, then see if there's a change. If not, try simply rebooting. You can also check the internal components (discharge any stored electricity from your body first) for dust. If dust is present, a cheap can of compressed air can solve that easily. If nothing comes of it, at least you'll have your basic system maintenance out of the way.

My SWBF2 installation folder alone (with installed mods) is 10.1 GB. Your total used HDD space is 4Gb. The only games I have that are below 1Gb in size currently are C&C Gold and Tiberian Sun! What other games do you have? Mine Sweeper?!

And you have Vista? The OS alone needs more than 4 GB on your HDD...
So this can't be correct. Check this again...

You don't have to buy a new one, you can simply upgrade your RAM. Price for 2 GB RAM... maximum of 30 € (should be at about 40$).

Then make a backup... on an external hard disk or something. Or burn it on DVDs...
As a rule of thumb, keep 25% of your hard drive free to ensure that things go smoothly.
Do you have a lot of "dead weight" aka files that are not active, such as documents, videos, music, backups, installation files, etc.? If you have a LOT of dead weight, consider buying an external hard drive. Nowadays, you can pick one up for at least $50 (Canadian) for a 500GB desktop version. That way, you won't have to transfer much if you later decide to purchase a new computer, since you'll have all that stuff there already. You could even put stuff there permanently. It's the best decision, as compared to endless 4.7 GB DVDs.
Do you have error messages (ex. "No TnL Detected. Continue? [Yes][No]) at any time when running Battlefront 2?
And about the RAM, you can go to Start>Control Panel>System>Advanced System Settings (Admin)>Performance>Advanced>Virtual Memory [press Change] and boost your RAM a bit with parts of the hard drive. You'll need to free up some space, though.
Also, while you're in the Performance window, you can choose to turn off visual effects to speed up your computer via the Visual Effects tab.
If you're brave enough, another way is through Services. Type services in the search box in the Start menu. You'll need to be an Admin, but once you're in you can tell the services in there to start manually. This will help not only boot-time but ongoing RAM usage. Make sure to carefully set services to manual, or to Delayed Autostart. NEVER set it to Disabled or delete a service. If you're uncertain about doing this, don't do it.
Of course a good Disk Defrag + Disk Cleanup will do wonders for your machine, in addition to uninstalling not-used programs and deleting old stuff. (How do I know all this? I worked with the Windows OS for months, so I know more about it than others)
That's the problem with vista, It's not efficient. Try to upgrade the RAM on your computer, I've done it, it's not so hard. How many mods do you have? That could slow the computer down if there are too many.
