On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) on how hyped I was for this game, I was a 0. I really didn't care so much, but my Korean friend convinced me to get it, and there were no other interesting new games out, so I got it.
I'm pretty impressed so far. The campaign is intense, and I'm about to go into some multiplayer.

Re: Starcraft II
I'm going to wait until Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void are released; I'm sure there will be a Starcraft II bundle on Steam and I plan to buy it. I still think this whole "let's unnecessarily divide the SCII campaign into three separate games" thing is a Diet Dr. Pepper idea and I refuse to endorse it.

Re: Starcraft II
I got Starcraft 1 a while back, and played some of the SC2 beta. I have quickly learned that I suck at RTS. I don't think I'll be getting it.

Re: Starcraft II
Hmm... An army of human generalists fighting an army of overspecialized aliens and another army of chitinous monsters intent on assimilation? Where have I seen this before?

Re: Starcraft II
Just please dont start the discussion about who stole what from which universe, there are thousands of forums discussing that theme on inet.
IMO you cant create a completely new universe today and I dont carry about it, more important for me is that StarCraft has got a really well thought out story and great gameplay.
However I dont like the idea of dividing the game into three parts too (the ending in SCII WoL made me really angry about the fact that Heart of the Swarm isnt out yet), but you should think more realistic. The game has got 26 campaign missions (each is unique, makes really fun), that makes something like 20 hours of gameplay, which is more than any modern non-RPG game can offer. Then youve got multiplayer and an editor.

Well, you seem to have played the game and I know you are a Starcraft fan as well, so tell me: do you honestly think that the Wings of Liberty campaign is large and extensive enough to justify being a separate game? Should I buy it or wait for the inevitable three-for-one pack as I was planning to do?negah wrote:However I dont like the idea of dividing the game into three parts too (the ending in SCII WoL made me really angry about the fact that Heart of the Swarm isnt out yet), but you should think more realistic. Re: Starcraft II
It depends on how much you want that game. The story is very good and each mission is different so youll definately wont get bored till the very end. And at the end youll think 'WTF how will it go further'. The ending makes you really want to play the zerg story.
Still waiting is always a good choice since youll get more content for less money.

Just finished the campaign, and it was pretty fun, but probably more of a cliffhanger than Halo 2 because of all the loose ends.

Add me >:3 (Ipodzanyman)
I love the recent update though, zerg doesn't feel as badly balanced as it had been. In the beta Hydras were amazing, but they've been 'nerfed' a lot since then. At least the Toss' Mothership isn't as invincible as it was... Any other players play 1v1?
