Space gravity
Hi, my brother just made an idea that I thought I could make. Is it possible if I could make a command ship vertical and the gravity working normally on it. I'm not asking if someone can do this for me because I want to do it myself. If you can give me information to make this mod possible, then thanks a whole lot. One more thing, I don't need this question answered but out of curiosity does anyone where can I post a request (examples: 3d model, side job, etc.)? Thanks a lot.

Re: Space gravity
I don't think thats possible...
But maybe you can create the optical illusion of the ship being vertical?
And your second question:

Gravity cannot be adjusted in any way in the Battlefront games.

Re: Space gravity
Couldn't you make a slowed animations and give him higher jump? So it seems like hes is less gravity?

Re: Space gravity
Falling down isn't an animation (so it can't be slowed down) and higher jumps are useless because they'd only hamper the player his ability to shoot, so it'd cause more frustration than inspiration.

Re: Space gravity
oh right so it would just be he jumps slowly then fall regular. But for walking i was thinking something like how they walked on the moon. "that little bounce walk thing"

Re: Space gravity
Oh yeah, I see now. But that would of course take a lot more work than some simple scripting, you'd be talking about reworking mayor parts of the animation.

Re: Space gravity
True and you would need to know how to animate.

Re: Space gravity
Would it be possible to remove the gravity function and replace all gravity functions with regions? If anyone can do it I can most certainly learn.

Re: Space gravity
Im pretty sure that gravity for players is hard coded the only time you can change it is with bullets to affect how fast they drop.

Re: Space gravity
swado is correct gravity can't be changed what so ever in this game ie one always falls down and fall rates can't be changed.

Re: Space gravity
You could give yourself an invisible jetpack that exerts less force than gravity, slowing your fall.
Then you could still shoot.

Re: Space gravity
But unless I'm mistaken, it won't always be on, gravity should be an environmental effect that's a constant, not something where you tap the G key twice and all of a sudden you're floating. IMO this would be too sloppy to work well, no work around can do this well enough to create the illusion of reduced gravity (as far as I can tell)CressAlbane wrote:You could give yourself an invisible jetpack that exerts less force than gravity, slowing your fall.

Some work-arounds the community has come up with have can or at least look like they've been made to work, but I just don't see this.
That is one of the most respectable things a newcomer with questions can do, is try themself. Welcome to GameToast!I'm not asking if someone can do this for me because I want to do it myself.

Re: Space gravity
It is not entirely true that gravity has no affect in game, it does just not for units (I don't think you can put a gravity line in an units odf something like Gravity= 0.5 and make it so gravity is only half a strong therefore allowing the unit to jump higher)
You can however change the gravity settings for most ordnances, remote turrets, vehicles (like hovers), chunks etc
