Announing: Tech Map

Post by Teancum »

Yeah, instead of vehicle packs, I've decided on just doing a Tech Map thread. The map will be released at intervals to ensure testing goes well, and to add new features. There's not meant to be any 'order' or 'theme' to the map, so you might see an A-Wing on the Imperial side, an Imp on the Rebel spawn screen, etc. The end goal is to make it so that as I release the actual assets, you can easily 'plug and play' them, just like the Thrawn and the Bothan Spy from Psych0fred's Chain Isle.

*PLEASE note: If something says 'ready for final testing', only report major bugs. I'm done fixing little things. If something says 'very early build' it means I haven't done much on it, so it will already have tons of bugs. ALSO: Other author's stuff is in here, but I won't release my versions of these addons until I get all my permissions sorted out. For now, they're only for looks and to see what great work they've done.

Release date for version 1 is "soon". Honestly.

Glad you're all excited. I have a bit more work before I release version 1. Don't worry though, version 1 is only an early test version. Lots of vehicles and units will be playable, but only a few will be close to totally finished. I'll post the names of the ones that I need final testing on once I get things to where I need them.

Maybe. I don't have BF2 and I'm not in a huge hurry to get it. 50 bucks is a lot when you're a young married college student.

Yeah, the Hovernaut is done. It just needs some online testing and I can upload it to the addon vehicles section in SWBF1 downloads.

What about that vehicles section? Are they vehicles that you can download for the game, or are they source files for modders?

source files only. It's not possible to just random spawn vehicles, unfortunately

Well, that's what i thought. But a vehicle pack that changes all of the vehicles of a fraction would be nice :D

Ya, the XT is driveable, but far from ready. It has to be re-exported with more bones. But feel free to give it a spin in a few days.
