Weird/unclean vertex-transformation ingame

How to create models in XSI and other 3D applications and make them work in Battlefront 1 & 2. Post models, tips for application usage and share anything XSI, 3DMax, SketchUp, etc.

Weird/unclean vertex-transformation ingame

Post by DarthD.U.C.K. »

im having an unexplainable problem:
i made some sewer-models and in xsi they fit together perfectly:
Hidden/Spoiler:
Image
(the edges on the transitions have only full coordinates snapped on the grid)

and thats the same bend in ZE (ingame its exactly the same)
Hidden/Spoiler:
Image
(it doesnt fit)

i already roze modleing and transformation of everything and objexported and reimported the bend but nothing changed

any ideas how to fix this issues are greatly appreciated

How did you place your objects? The best way to place objects that are married together (positionwise) in XSI is to place one where you want it, place the other anywhere, and then change the position directly in the .wld file so that they match up.

its no placement issue, theoretically they have to fit together perfectly when using snap-to-grid in ZE (i took extra care of that)

edit:i tried extracting all polys and replacing the old model with it but that had no effect either

Is the ChildPosition value in the .wld file the same for both objects? Theory is fine, but right now that's (placement) the weakest link in your production pipeline.
